Sunday at 1:00 is the best possible time slot.

Normal week for us and a tough time slot for a west coast team.

Not really, we kept Manning in check a couple of weeks ago.

They ate up an astonishing % of the clock which they are very good at. It is why their PPG allowed is as low as it is. Their best defense is their offense at many junctures from an outside point of view.

No denying that as that is something most teams work on when playing Manning.

We should win the game, hands down. We are way more talented. But then again, we are the Bengals and yesterday showed we do try to give games away.

I was impressed with our resiliency yesterday. After the game got tied at the end of the third quarter, the offense came up with a 90 yard drive to regain control. From that point on they had complete control, even though there was a little more pain to suffer before putting the game away. In the end they covered the final spread by 10.5 points and really dominated the Ravens, who couldn't move the ball at all. Nothing seems to ever come easily to these guys, but struggles build character, and I think we are going to be a tough out.

You know, you can tell me over and over that this is a brand new Bengals team. You can tell me the past means nothing. You can tell me that SD is shit. I'm still nervous. I'm a Bengals fan over the age of 30...there is no optimism left in me.

I cannot and will not, in good conscience, feel good about the Bengals winning a playoff game until they actually do so.

Having said that, if we lose this game, it will be worse than our last 3 playoff losses combined.

I'm just worried about Marvin Lewis and Jay Gruden sabotaging us. Lets pass when the run is clearly working and let Andy Dalton throw pick 6s, if he throws 3 pick 6s then maybe the devil will leave us alone.

I'm all for being aggressive, but I'm going to be pissed off if we don't try to pound the ball on the ground. Our offensive line absolutely destroyed them late in that game -- They should be given a chance to do it again.

Jay used the injured tight ends yesterday as an opportunity to further showcase his 'explosive' offense before job season begins.

If the Bengals lose this game, I don't think I will ever watch another football game again.

If the Bengals can win this game it will be a huge monkey off my back. So sick of the losing. Kinda funny the Steeler fans on my FB haven't posted anything since yesterday. haha

I do not feel sorry for the Steelers. I did not want to face them, and I will be honest and say, they did scare me. They were on a roll. They were 6-2 in the last half of the season and they looked like they were putting it back together. I didn't want to face an opponent that familiar with us in the first round of the playoffs. Overall, I think our team projects more confidence against the Chargers than the Steelers.

I am glad Kirkpatrick has gotten some time to play. Really hope Newman is back healthy, but incase of injury again, it would suck to have Kirkpatrick have to come straight off the bench with no real playtime this year and cover someone in the playoffs.

Not an overall great game for Kirkpatrick, as he got toasted a couple times, and had two gift INT's thrown to him, but 2 INT's are 2 INT's. Hopefully this is the beginning of him becoming at least an average DB. Fingers crossed.

I do like the shotgun spread offense more with a RB standing next to Dalton. Dalton doesn't have to count his steps dropping back, he can just catch the ball and look for an open receiver, that set mismatches defenses against us, as most teams do not have enough quality coverage guys to cover: Green, Jones, Gresham, Eifert, Sanu/Bernard.

I still like the WR screens, RB screens, the read option, draws, sweeps, reverses, etc. We are a much more dynamic offense. We do not need huge chunks of yards, but if our offense plays up tempo most of the game in that formation, it keeps better players on the bench for the defense by them having to use a dime package in a lot of cases, it wears them out quicker, and puts Dalton in his most comfortable formation on the field. Just keep moving the chains with those short plays, take some deep chances one in a while to keep safeties honest, and hand off 40/45% of the time with less LB's on the field.

We wear their defense out, we can still move the chains, and it lets our depleted defense tee off on the opposing offensive line and QB.

SD was my ideal matchup at home, before the day even started. My ideal would have been: Chargers, then Dolphins, then Ravens, then Steelers. The 1 o'clock start time on Sunday was just a freaking bonus.

Best possible outcome if you root against the Steelers. They miss the playoffs for two years straight, but are still picking at the back end of the first round. It's hard to continue to get impact players when you're always drafting low..... And they have a lot of spots to fill as some of the vets get older.
