I never liked the playoffs (or divisions that matter...and definitely not inter-league play...why should the AL or NL inter-league count in their respective leagues). I'm old school....whichever teams that win the most games in their respective leagues should go straight to the World Series. The 162 game schedule is the REAL playoff and it takes an entire organization to win it. ANY team, even the worst (White Sox for example) can win a short series. It takes a great team to win 100 games or so. Of course, I was a young boy in the 60s when the winners of each league went straight to the World Series. They had some really great close races down the wire. When the 1969 expansion came around, the leagues were broken up into two divisions. The first three years, the teams with the most winds won the ACLS and NCLS. But after that, it changed. As mentioned, I'm old school...and I despise the designated hitter. And I was used to watching great starting pitchers going the distance...and in a 4-man rotation. Yet. these days there are a higher percentage of arm troubles than there were in the 60s and 70s. I still watch baseball as I believe it's still the greatest sport.

BAL and BOS need some stability ASAP in their bullpens. NYY probably could get by if they switched Holmes out of the closer role. He’s blown 10 saves already, and seems to be really off the rails since a month ago.

Houston is getting hot at the right time and getting players back from injury. They are the team to watch for me.
