Only allowed 9 games before a year of his contract kicks in.

If he was a junior player in NA, he goes back to hi CHL club.

Europeans with contracts in their domestic league are generally returned there.

People who fall into none of these categories would be, I believe, eligible for the AHL. I can't think of anyone to who this has recently applied though.

Don't forget about the whole accrued season thing. It gets messy.

Brandon Saad 2nd round pick 43rd overall. He's having a good camp isn't he??

Yes sir, didn't think he had a shot, but now stalberg, smith, and bolland are all out with injuries.

It's always a good thing when your team finds a player outside the 1st round. Granted Saad was projected to go higher. Central Scounting had him as the 19th best N.A. prospect available.

Yea, if he keeps this up and mcneil and danault turn out to be any good the hawks had them selves a real nice draft. Also thanks to everyone who helped answer my question.

The age minimum only applies to players coming out of the CHL leagues. For players out of the WHL, QMJHL, or OHL they must turn 20 on or before Dec 31 of that league year to be AHL eligible. Players coming from Europe, NCAA, USHL, or other Canadian jr leagues the requirement is age 18 by Dec 31.
