I asked him between Spencer , Okoye and Rolando McClain - who had the best chance to suit up week 1? His answer- McClain will play. It was then asked what Okoye's malady was. He said he could not explain it.

Are you sure you used McClain's first name and he didn't think you meant the other McClain?

@CowboysCatsCubs: @BryanBroaddus Spencer Okoye R MCClain. Which has best chance to play week 1” McClain will.

Now he could have thought the R meant or. He was high on the DT McClain during OTAs. I then came back with the LB quote and he hasnt responded.

He will have to miss the first few days of camp because of a court date. Im starting to think I will be surprised if he even makes the roster. I think Broaddus did misunderstand me

Does this mean Hitchens is already another wasted 4th round pick?

One has nothing to do with the other, but to make life easier I'll just go with yes...Heck, I say let's just call every draft pick that doesn't start and make the Pro Bowl year 1 a wasted pick right now.

Why is it when we look back at draft picks we give them 3 years to prove themselves, but when we look forward we only give them 3 months? Damn,,,dat was some deep philosophical shit I dun conjured up there...

IMO 4th round picks should contribute right away, other teams seem to find help in the 4th round. Its almost like }errah tells everyone that the 4th round pick is all mine. I don't remember the last time we drafted a 4th rounder that actually contributed

Well I do think we have had our struggles with later picks and do think we need to get better at them. But, to expect a 4th rounder to start or play significant snaps at MLB his first year is a little much IMO especially when he didn't play this spot in College. It's not Hitchens fault we made poor choices in the past.

Is there a team who routinely hits on late round picks (4th or later). I would dare to say we are league avg. in terms of late round pick success and way above avg. in finding skilled undrafted FA's.

No. We are way below. There was an article on it. I think Earl posted it a few months back.

Andy Reid ALWAYS nailed good players late but really struggled getting top players in the first 3 rounds. Philly does a really good job drafting late. Brandon Boykins is a stud (4th) round. Jason Kelce is a top 3 center and we got him in the 6th, Trent Cole was a 5th. Brent Celek was a 5th, Riley Cooper was a 5th, Nick Foles was a late 3rd, Bryce Brown was a 7th and I think hes going to have a HUGE year in Buffalo, and from last year the Eagles are very high on Safety Earl Wolff from the 5th. He hits like a hammer but has been inconsistent. But he has talent.

We didnt draft him but Jason Peters was an undrafted Tight End that was switched to LT in the pros.

So the Eagles under Reid were clearly one of the better teams....hopefully that trend doesn't continue:whistle:

just saw this on McClain

Cowboys LB Rolando McClain's trial for resisting arrest and disorderly conduct will begin Friday in Decatur, Ala.
McClain's attorney had attempted to have the proceedings delayed so McClain wouldn't have to miss time in training camp, but the judge refused. The case has already been delayed three times. Even with the Cowboys' defense in utter disarray, McClain is a long shot to crack the 53-man roster.
