Did you guys see that cool eye contact Nick made with OV coming up the ice, with the little head nod for the cross-over? I know that sort of thing happens all the time, but it was cool that they had the closeup of Nick when he did it.

I only watched the third and OT, but what's the deal with the bouncing pucks tonight?

Caps took the play to the Ducks, they deserved the two points.

I did. Pretty damn cool, just something that you know happens, but rarely see

Just finished the game, some thoughts...
-3rd line was awesome - our scoring depth is back and making a big difference
-Thought Eakin did some great things out there.
-Even when we were down 3-0, I thought we were playing the better game. Anaheim only managed 15 shots. But there were some D lapses tonight. Surprisingly enough, they were from Wideman and Hamrlik.
-Nicky is SO much stronger on and off the puck this year. He is wrecking people out there and he is back to 09-10 form!
-We are working so much harder and getting to the net so much better - LOVE this team.

D lapses would worry me, but we aren't healthy right now. If we have those types of lapses when we are healthy and on regular lines, I'll start to worry.

You're going to have them from time-to-time. But Wideman and Hamrlik have been pretty solid. I'll give them a pass tonight. Carlson and Schultz had really good games.

Tyler is tight, the defensive breakdowns are a problem, and not just in this game, but he team is playing well, I am just nitpicking. In addition, some of the defensive breakdowns last night were the responsibility of the forwards. Even though two of the goals were bad clear outs by the D, a lot of the pressure came from bad forechecking, and lazy come backs after turnovers. In addition 8 played very bad yesterday defensively. He looked very lazy on the third goal, for example. I think he was worn out, maybe a bit jetlagged, as he usually plays much better. However, some of the breakdowns last night were from the front 12 (well, 9, our third line was fantastic) as much as the back 6. I hope Green gets healthy quick as well.
