I have an unsettling feeling that our win last week against the Green Bay Packers will turn out to be a Pyrrhic victory and I'm not feeling confident about our chances this Sunday in Cleveland or the following week against the Patriots in particular. The Game against the Packers was so exhausting and physical that Leon Hall and Reggie Nelson were both injured and are unlikely to play this week and their future availability is in question. When coupled with the injuries to Dre Kirkpatrick and Brandon Ghee the further injuries to our already depleted Secondary may be too much to overcome.

Okay I'm an educated guy and I have no idea what 'Pyrrhic' means. No, I'm not going to look it up.

I can infer from the context what it means but I have never heard that word. Ever. I thought it was a typo at first.

Actually I was referring to the loss of both Leon Hall and Reggie Nelson our starting corner and free safety so the term was quite apropos.

Did you never study Greek ancient history in high school? It refers to the Pyrrhic War between Greece and Rome. Greece won the war, but their large number or casualties left them vulnerable to a secondary attack that they were unable to defend against.

To be honest...I'm shocked I remembered that.

Wow, really?! So you're trying to say that I misused the term? I graduated from the University of California, San Diego, one of the best Political Science Schools in the Country, with a B.A. in Political Science and a Minor in History. Please don't lecture me on the proper use of the phrase because you're not qualified to do so.

Pyr·rhic victory n- A victory that is offset by staggering losses. A victory or goal achieved at too great a cost. The term is used as an analogy in fields such as business, politics, and sports to describe struggles that end up ruining the victor.

That is what he fucking said you moron. It was referring to the Greek who won the battle but suffered to great a loss and it cost them later. Do you know how to read? That is essentially what he FUCKING SAID.

Actually I didn't see Servo's first response, I thought he was replying to me and misinterpreted what he wrote. I apologize.
