The Bad Guy
Pros:
Who thought Taylor would out throw Weeden?
Texas got beat
Taylor had 5 TD passes
Iowa got beat
Over 500 total yards
Notre Dame got beat
2nd half defense stepped up
Iowa St beat Texas in Austin
Only 1 fumble (sucks that that has to be a "pro")
Iowa lost on bonehead clock management at the end of the game
We won the penalty battle (again sucks that that is a "pro")
Texas lost IN Austin AGAIN
Niles Paul had a great bounce back game
Good 3rd down defense
Alex Henery can kick the ball far and has some "swift" feet
Cons:
Tackling is an issue for 2nd straight week
Secondary looked lost even on ordinary jump balls
Kickoff defense still sucks
Gave up almost 500 yards of offense
Overall:
I expected Okie St to get about 30 points because their offense is that good but didn't think it would be over 40. That sucks but this was a good bounce back game for our offense no matter how bad Okie St's defense is. It was almost like it was set up this way to get confidence back for the Nebraska offense. Pelini said that last weeks game was probably the worst defensive tackling game he has ever been apart of. Well this week wasn't any better. The only thing I am afraid of for next week with Missouri is that the game is at home. That REALLY sucks to say.
