Broncos saved 4.5 million by cutting Sanchez, him coming to Denver is definitely a strong possibility.

Broncos have about $14 million now in cap space with Hillman, Colquitt, and Sanchez all cut now

I think it is less than that.

If the Cowboys sign him for $1 million or more the Broncos get the entire $4.5 million back. I would bet he signs for at least $1 million

Anyways, we won't really have an accurate picture of cap space for a few days.

My estimate was on the low end with the cuts the Broncos have made. Could be another million or so depending on a couple of things

Yep. Offseason roster cap hits are based on the top 51 roster minus some other salaries & cap hits that won't hit the cap till the official 53-man roster. So the official cap count will be a little convoluted for a few days.

I don't like the move for this season, but next year they have to decide which of three other current starters on the offensive line they want to resign (T.J. Lang, David Bakhtiari and J.C. Tretter). Not to mention Eddie Lacy, possibly Jared Cook if he pans out, along with a slew of valuable role players.

Sitton lost 20 pounds this off-season to help ease some severe back pain. Odds are Sitton would have been one of the odd men out when resigning next off-season starts anyway due to his risk of long-term success. Instead of possibly getting a high compensatory pick for letting him walk after this season, they can carry over his 2016 salary into next year to sign other free agents they want to keep.

a LG is no use to a team that does not have a pure pocket passer.

So the Packers get rid of their all pro G with no legit backup, their LS, both punters and 2 gunners are injured yet they keep 7 WR's. I can't wait for the 7 WR package, better yet I can't wait for Jeff Janis to be the LS and snap it to himself to punt then sprint down and stop the PR man.

Yes.. just read story on this as well.. a bit surprised myself
It seems like the Packers didn't want to pay him the 6.8 million he was due this season.

God, what I'd do to see the Sitton shore up LG for the Chiefs even if for only 1 year.
John Dorsey helped draft Sitton when he was an assistant to the GM in Green Bay. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Sitton signs with the Chiefs.

I' have a feeling he is going to a team with a better chance to make the SB...
Most experts have Green Bay as the top team in the NFC.

I think it had more to do with the fact that next year they have Tretter, Lang and Bahktiari all up for contracts on the OL. They are younger than Sitton at this time so makes sense if you are going to sign somebody long-term you want the younger guy.
