Notice I only put the word "pro" in the title? There is no "s" at the end!!!!!!! There certainly is an "s" at the end of "con".

Pro:
Alex Henery got alot of practice today

Cons:
Turnovers!!!!!
Penalties!!!!
Over 200 total yards for SDSU
4-13 on 3rd down conversions
How many times does Taylor have to throw the ball short to his receivers?
The score was only 17-3
DL was getting pushed around
OL was getting pushed around

Overall:

I could go on and on about the cons. Was there probably more pros? Yeah maybe but they are not worth mentioning considering how bad the cons were. I don't want to hear the bullshit about looking past SDSU towards Big 12 play. That is fucking bullshit. I also don't want to hear the bullshit about holding plays back and being very vanilla. That is fucking bullshit as well. SDSU is not App St, Montana, Northern Iowa, or any other good 1-AA team. They fucking suck!!!!!!! The only real good thing that came out of this saturday is Texas getting crushed IN Texas and Notre Dame getting crushed IN South Bend!!!!! I am not saying this team is terrible or jumping off any cliffs because of this game but I am really pissed off at the lack of execution in this game.

God this game sucked.

FUCK TEXAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

jed, i respect your feelings/thoughts here but....

I can honestly say; looking past opponents does happen and although you would never think SDSU should be on the same field let alone be that close at games end, I think this game will ultimately help us!

Perfection is a hard thing to master, and if you were to hear Bo and his assessment of this game, you would see that although he is really pissed, he held back his temper because he takes mental prep (of the team) squarely on his own shoulders!

Go Big Red!

No he held back his temper because he is sick and tired of hearing the media and a few fans get all butt hurt about him not being able to control his temper.

Ever since Bo got here he has had this great ability to "coach in the moment". (BTW, that is from Damon Benning) So I don't buy into the bullshit about the coaches looking past this game. Especially when we have almost 2 weeks to look at conference play. Players are a different story but with the way the coaching staff prepares and has integrated this culture to this team I don't buy into the bullshit of the players looking towards conference play either. They just flat out did not execute. The only excuse I will remotely buy into that doesn't not actually involve what happened on the field for this game is that it was such an emotional high from last weeks game that they couldn't get to that same level a week later no matter who they would have played. And I don't even like that excuse.

I didn't watch or listen to the game and saved myself a lot of aggravation.
We won, lets move on to the next one.

LOL @ Bo caring about fans getting Butt hurt!

Wow, I guess I did not explain my thoughts well enough!

I would not argue with Damon's comment about the coach, but I am not talking about the X's and O's, I am talking about the emotions that is involved in gearing yourself up to accomplish your task. Bo can teach and instruct all he wants but he can not control the emotions of players with 100% certainty. He can get in someone face or slap them on the head for a job well done, but the (natural emotions) that come from playing a big game is different then they are when you are playing a (supposed lesser opponent).

If emotions did not play such a big part of the game, and everything is what it appears to be... then we should expect that K.State should be able to run Texas into the ground, since they both played UCLA and K.State won outright and Texas got beat bad (score wise).

I am not arguing that Bo does not get the boys ready to play (Game Plan/Schemes) I am saying there is a phenomenon known as Emotion that is part of prep. Execution is the mechanical part of the game and there is no one better at teaching a player what they are supposed to execute, but emotions affect execution of plays. (Rhythm)

I realize I am a novice to all this football stuff, but if you look at what happens week in and week out, it appears to be logical. Yes, Bo does not want this up and down emotion to be part of the game, he wants us to be mechanical in nature, do our damn jobs and everything else will fall into place. But he knows as well as everyone else, that this is something you can not control with certainty.

Having better control of emotions (highs/lows) as well as just going out doing your job no matter who you are playing and to the same degree of effort and efficiency week in and week out, is what many people refer to as mental maturity!

Bo made the comment of why we had this poor performance, and I believe he said, I do not know, it's our fault that we were not prepared to play. (Does anyone really think the coaches let the players take a week off?)

HH made a comment in another thread that stated everyone took the week off, even the fans. Well there is more truth to that than what the naked eye can see. Just as our (fans) emotions were riding high the week we played Washington and everyone was getting hyped..... The emotions that we (fans) had this week prior to SDSU game, was at best mediocre! (You think there is any parallel?).

Go Big Red!

I agree w/ BRS. I made the comment last week that this felt like a buy week. I watched the game at a friends house and didn't see much of it as i was outside throwing the ball with my boy most of the time. I tool the W for granted..

I'm not going to get too far into this right now because I'm typing this on my pain in the ass phone, but not in the team's defense or anything, watsons play calling was HORRIBLE!!! I was at the game and it was painful to watch. Zone read option to Burkhead.... Zone read option to burkhead... Zone read option to burkhead.... Over and over again. Everyone in the stands saw it coming and I was sitting in the south stadium next to the SDSU fans and even THEY were calling it. I'll elaborate later if I have time. Gym time for me.
