So do we draft a bench too?

9 positional players
5 SP's
5 RP's
5 bench?

I think we should go 3 man pen, Closer, Set Up, Long Relief, and a 3 man bench, LHH, RHH, and base runner/defensive specialist. This would make it a 20 round draft, and I would also make the voting a best of 5 series, each SP throws once. I think this would maximize and define the rolls of all players and make voting easier

I like that idea:

9 positional players
5 SP's
3 RP's (Closer, Set Up, Long Reliever)
3 Bench players (LH, RH, PR)

Normally I would say hell no... I love RPs... But if this is a pre 1960 draft, I am ok with that as RP didn't really become popular yet...

Totally agree, there are only about 20-25 RP's that are worth a shit from that time frame

Maybe we should even allow SP to be RP... Or loosen the RP rules we normally do... Maybe 100 innings of RP can be a reliever...

I see 8 very good to good RP's in the "top 50" of all-time. Only a couple great. There isn't a very good pool, even 100 IP could be difficult to find but if we only need 3 per team that is only a total of 30 guys.

if we shrink the minimum though the pool gets larger, as we can start SP at RP... But what will be even more fun about that is that it will force owners to draft their SP earlier as that pool shrinks a little...
