I often wonder if Rivera knows that historically mediocre (7,8, or 9 wins) generally translates into more time on the job here. He is certainly feeling those 3rd-year anxiety pangs that come with 7-9 and 7-10 finishes. He promised a 5-year rebuild and because of this, I'll have to agree with your assertion that Wince, for better or worse will start if he's healthy for the season. If things do go south, one or two people doing a wave with paper bags over their heads won't change that. I just wanted @deanpet21 perspective on the author's prediction of a 3-6 start.

I've been the one saying Ron's on the hot seat this year. I'm gonna have to reverse field on this one. Dan just got too much going on. Barring a 4-13 shit show with leaks and player dissent, I think he gets to year four.

Honestly it's not a bad roster if everyone is healthy.

i think Ron thinks he may have a longer leash especially with drafting howell. He can point out to Dan that they have a QB to develop to buy Ron 2 more seasons. But I really hope he gets canned if things go south and they hire someone like Eric Bienemi to develop Howell.

Why bienemi? Teams have passed on him for a while now. He’s lucky to even get an interview. I hear he has off field problems. No thanks

I don't believe that Rivera is on a hot seat at this point either, however, he really does a disservice to himself with all of his public proclamations about what he's going to do about one thing or the other. (Ex: promising to fix the QB position 3 years running/ rebuild and this 3rd-year big move towards a title) IMO, he would be in a better place giving those non-answers, responses to questions that have reporters and the public scratching their heads and others like myself laughing at the exchanges.

Look at our schedule. If TH can get 7 with a tough schedule. Wentz can get 11 with a favorable one. I don't think you guys are just as strong this year as last. Plus add Dotson, Samuel, Brown, and Robinson to the offense with a way better QB we should put up points.
