For all intent and purposes this division race has come down to Washington and the NYG's. That puts more importance on this Sunday's game at FedEx field. A win and through the wonders of tie breakers DC would find itself in sole custody of the division lead. A loss on the other hand and their season aspirations would come to a very bitter end. There will be no brownie points given for effort in this one, it is in effect a MUST WIN game!

As usual we ask for

1. A final score and who wins
2. The outstanding play/player of the game
3. Water cooler topic coming out of this one

Skins win 27-23

DeSean Jackson 54 yard TD reception and the three picks of Eli.

How can a team so inconsistent lead a division and should the NFC East actually get a home playoff game? Followed by I told you he should get 17 mil each season.

I'll co-sign on the above gkekoa predictions, but change the 3 Eli picks to 2 Eli picks.

And add that the 17 mill a year for Cuz talk reaches fever pitch frenzy. Due to the Redskins playing two home games in a row for the first time in 2015 and next up at FedEx will be the Cowboys.

Hope you are right Breed. Manning has only throw 6 picks this year so far.

After seeing Romo and Rogers yesterday I think Cousins should be worth more than $17 million.

I laughed at the last part of your post, but something does seem seriously off with Rodgers and has for a while (at least 3 weeks) now. Far as Romo, I just think the Panthers Def is for real. I know Luke and Josh Norman are getting most of the pub and Davis is starting to get love to and all 3 deserve it. Their entire defense is pretty impressive though. Like what's up with Roman Harper? Dude has discovered the fountain of youth or something.

Yeah, Eli's 3.5/1 TD/INT ratio is damn impressive. Especially considering he's never come close to that in his first 11 years. His comp % is also the highest its ever been in his career, at least for the time being. I'm just playing the odds so to speak and hoping he's due for a sinker of a game. If not because of general purposes than for the fact that the Giants are 5-0 against the Skins in the last 5 games and Eli's pretty much lit em up in 4 of those games.

If the Skins defense doesn't get on the stick though, and maybe its Barry's unimaginative schemes that are mainly to blame for that. It could be a long day for the good guys or it might come down to a who has the ball last shootout considering Kirk's mostly impressive play at FedEx this year.

Funny thing about Barry's defense is they had a good game after the 1st quarter against the Saints. Last week they got blown up. I am not familiar enough with him to know if this is his preferred style or they are trying to cover up for personnel issues.

Panthers look like they are for real. ILBs are well above average but their entire defense is. Cam is never going to be a 65% passer but he has intangibles many others don't. He is a big man. I think the only other QB that has that kind of size is Big Ben.

Andrew Luck is an inch shorter and five pounds lighter.

I can't tell you how many times I've changed my mind on this one. One moment I'm picking Washington the next the NYG's. The sources of my confusion are based in the trends leading up to this one. They are:
1. The roller coaster nature of this season win one lose one means after a loss last week a win should be in store tomorrow.
2. Washington has not won back to back games nor loss back to back home games so trending towards a win
3. NYG's have won the last 5 meetings between the two so maybe that indicates a possible loss
4. DC's penchant to give up big rushing days to opposing RB's means Eli and company will possibly pound out another victory.
5. The Giants have fared better vs. Common top tier opponents especially on the road which bodes well for them.
6. Washington plays very well at home and should give a solid effort tomorrow.
All in all this looks to me to be a poorly played game with each team going ultra conservative while waiting for the mistakes of the opponent. There will be tons of punts and FGs in this one but in the end I'm leaning...oh so slightly, towards the NYG

Final score 22 - 19 (1 TD each and 5 and 4 FG's for winner/ loser respectively)
Play of the game ....none
Water cooler talk....Ways to still win the division via strength of schedule. Building for next year and contracts.

Skins win it 31-28

Player of the game Carl Cheffers Referee crew on a call that changes the Game.

Secondary winners, Roger Godell and the NFL as the Skins winning will technically keep Dallas and Philly alive in the hunt for the NFCEast title, and make weeks 13-17 meaningful for this motley crew of teams.

Considering the previous 4 weeks or so and the 1st quarter against the Saints. I wanted to be encouraged by the D's performance the last 3 quarters against the Saints. The Carolina game knocked that out the box though.

Yeah, I'm not familiar enough with Barry either to say one way or the other. I will say this. If his wiki page is accurate. Joe Barry - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Considering his pretty extensive experience as a LB coach. I'm a little disappointed in the Skins up n down LB play this year.

Like G allued to, Luck is a horse as well, but of the three. Cam's missed significantly less time due to injury than either Ben or Luck. If they keep playing Cam like they do, as the de facto short yardage/goal line RB. I expect that to change, maybe even dramatically. I don't understand why Carolina keeps using him like that with those big ass RBs they have in Stewart and Tolbert.

Hey...pretty damn good prediction.

I was a little off on the score, a few yards on just how long DJ TD was, and cooler talk needs to be just how good our D was (to accompany contract talk).
