A city with a population of 100,000 has already purchased about 10,000 more tickets than your stadium even holds, so not too shabby.

Only people in the city limits are fans?

I've talked to Packer fans that often fly to other cities because it's easier to get a ticket for an away game. You would think those people would have already made plans for the flight or drive to GB to see a home playoff game.

It would be pretty remarkable if they sold 80,000 tickets to people in only the immediate area.

Maybe there is some heated buses from the retirement homes so they get some of them there.

Dont just gloss over the rest of my post and focus on the joke. 100,000 in the town doesn't mean shit, everyone knows there's a lot of fucking Packer fans out there. For a team that fanbase that travels so well and has such pride in their team and stadium, the fact that it's Thursday and not sold out would imply some fair-weatherness. It may be because of the opponent and the weather, but that's no excuse for a fanbase that takes themselves so seriously.

Well, crap. The game would have sold out days ago if word had just gotten out that we weren't meeting your expectations.

Sonny this is a pretty big winter storm hitting much of the east and the temps are so low that i can understand people not wanting to get caught in it,hell they are saying 14 inches maybe in Boston,so the last thing i would want is to see someone hurt or worse just for going to a game.

This issue of playoff tickets and possible "blackout" is, and has been, a problem for decades for the NFL in general. this isn't a new development and about the ONLY reason it is so noticeable right now is because it involves the Packers. That tells you something. The fanbase didn't get their reputation because they're "fairweather"

Is it partly to blame for something that hasn't even happened yet? To a small degree. The larger issues is the NFL policies in general and it should hardly be surprising to anybody that a 40,000 ticket holders didn't pony up the cash for not 1 but 2 playoff games, at a time when the Packers were in the midst of a 2-5 slump and looked out of the playoffs, when Christmas was still coming and you'd be out that money till next year no matter if the tickets became a reality or not.

I'm pretty certain that if I went up to most people and said, Give me between 1-2K in cash today for 2 games worth of tickets (most season ticket holders have 3-4 tickets seats per game) and if your team, that has just gone 2-5-1 and unlikely to make the playoffs, does by some chance make the playoffs you'll have tickets and if not, tough shit. you're not getting a refund.

I'm sure you'd jump all over that in heartbeat every single time right? :) if you are, please, give me the money and I'll hold it for you. I love using free money.

But between that, the holidays just passing, a team that wouldn't have been in the playoffs if not for a come from behind score with only 38 seconds left in their last game, not much time to move that many tickets and a bitterly cold forecast, it should hardly surprise anybody their are tickets available at this point.

This team has sold out stadiums for decades and will again for this game. I hardly think it's "fanbase" is at question

I doubt the roads will even be open to get there.

Long Island has already started shutting down parkways and expresses.

He just doesn't understand that we aren't simply talking about "cold." These are the projected wind chills for kickoff. Might be $150 worth of fun for some, but definitely not me. I wouldn't go for free.

So the deadline has past, did the stadium get sold out or not?

The deadline is 32 minutes from now and I'm sure the NFL will grant an extension if they are not sold by then anyway.

I see, I thought it was 3:40 pm EST, not local time. Carry on with the conversation of how cold 0 degrees actually is.

I don't believe it has anything to do with the weather. The people in WI are used to that.

I think it's ticket prices. The economy is tough.

I doubt very seriously any so called "fan" who is being critical of Lambeau not being sold out would pony up that kind of cash to sit in temps that cold

Kickoff might be -10 air temp and -30 wind chill. Lol, no we are not used to that.
