So the holy trinity of the NFC is Green Bay, New Orleans, and Seattle. These three feature long time teams with their veteran elite QBs. Yet, patient teams don't win.

Every team that has come out of the NFC since 2011, and outside of that one year since 2005(maybe) has been a red hot fresh face contender, not necessarily with a younger QB in some cases. The longest a team's tenure at a certain level or longest between when it started and the SB has been intact with current QB in this frame is Matt Ryan and Atlanta. That was Ryan's ninth year, but that Atlanta team was not consistent, and the last time they were in the playoffs was four years prior when they lost the NFCCG. They also had a new coach and a more exciting offense than ever before. It was like they started over. However, the non-fresh face contending team was 2011 Giants, who won a SB in 2007 in their third year as a playoff contender.

And if you look at when Rodgers and Wilson last went to SBs, it was Wilson's third year and Seattle's third year as a powerhouse team. It was Rodgers' third year and GB's second year at that level.

What does this say? Losing is not good, and the longer you are from your last SB, the harder to get back. In the NFC, there are more threats. Teams that are wildcards can cause more trouble in the NFC than in the AFC. This is because sometimes the wild cards are better than the fourth seed. And sometimes the first wild card is the second or third best team.

Who is this year's fresh face? Tampa Bay (they are a transplant team).

In the AFC, it's been more veteran-friendly, unless the QB is Big Ben. Pittsburgh has been in the playoffs so long now and losing in five playoff appearances since their last SB appearance. But Manning and Brady controlled the AFC for a while with a Flacco sprinkled in. Even now, it's getting fresher in the AFC with KC, Baltimore, and the transplant Colts. It's highly likely one of those three are in the SB for the AFC. That is because the only long-time QB and team happen to be the ones who can't seem to win when it matters.

So, this could mean Brees, Rodgers, and Wilson may need to find new teams. I can see why Lafleur did what he did now. He sees what's going on in the NFC. The old reliable isn't winning the NFC.

But in this year's instance, there's a catch. The fresh face team has a 43-year-old QB and a past-his-prime TE. And the pressure is building on those three teams after last year. So this may be the year where a veteran and veteran team finally gets back, especially if they all three play in divisional. It's 3 against 1.

Why would Brees switch teams? He is on his last leg and Payton-Brees is one of the best duos in NFL history.
Rodgers has a new HC but he would be the most likely to ask for a trade if things don't workout..but also he is up there in age and huge contract. Don't see it.
Russell just got a huge deal and also doesn't seem to be going anywhere while making the playoff year in and year out like these other two QB's.

You say it is so hard to get back to the SB but you act like this is something new...it's been like this every since there has been 24-26 teams in 1970. Very few dynasties since 1970. Usually one a decade with NE being the exception for basically being a dynasty for two decades.
