No kidding. Just posted the headline for some postseason humor.

Ahh... Sorry I was just looking for some info on the kid . I don't read these boards enough to understand whats perceived as being funny.

San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey, center, walks off the field with... ( Jeff Chiu )«123»Giants trainer Dave Groeschner said Wednesday that catcher Buster Posey is doing terrific so far in his rehabilitation from reconstructive left ankle surgery but cautioned that he still has a long way to go to be ready for the start of the 2012 season.

"He's maybe a little ahead of schedule right now," Groeschner said after Posey played catch on the field before the game. "That's great and all, but we still have to get him to the finish line."

The finish line would be 100 percent healthy by the start of spring training. Posey heads to Arizona on Thursday to begin accelerating his rehab. He'll begin hitting off a tee next week, and the goal is to have him catch a bullpen session or two before he heads home to Georgia for the winter.

"It's pretty accelerated right now," Groeschner said. "But it doesn't really matter if he's ahead now, because the season's almost over. What we're trying to do is get him ready for spring training."

Groeschner added that Posey "still needs to work on his range of motion and his strength, then functional baseball activities. Obviously, the catching part is the biggest part. He still needs to start running, and not only running, but running bases."

Coffeeman, welcome to the board. We do tend to give newbies a lot of crap, so if you can survive the initiation, you will enjoy it.

There is a sticky post at the top about Board Language which will bring you up to speed on some of the "inside" language we use here.

For example, "HF" = "Humorless F**k", a designation for someone who took sarcasm or a joke seriously, and posted accordingly.

For example, someone posting that MadBum is the worst pitcher in the league (obviously sarcasm or a reference to some previous post) followed by someone citing statistics and other arguments to prove that MadBum is NOT the worst pitcher in the league. That person will be designated as a HF.

Not to worry, we have all been HF's at one time or another.

Glad you are here, looking forward to your contributions.

Welcome aboard coffee. Hope to see you around. It gets a little slower hear during the offseason, but the Sharks and (especially) the 49ers boards are active.

:yo:

Thank you.

Thank you very much.

Uh huh.

Edit: (even though you didn't ACTUALLY rep me...)

I tried. Even to the point of repping others that may or may not be so deserving in order to "spread it around." I guess I was just being punished for trying to reward the messenger. Buster is the one who truly deserves the rep. :p

(Thanks, Stokesy)
