Without being a SPURS homer:

If this was a first round matchup, I would like the Blazers.
But for a 2nd round series, the Spurs are the more attractive pick.

The Blazers lack of depth and long minutes (4 overtime games) is going to catch up to them.

They only play 5 or 6 guys tops.
Houston was a great draw for them. The Rockets have little to no depth as well.
That fatigue and depth was not a factor versus a thin Rockets bench.

The Spurs are the exact opposite.
The SPURS biggest asset is their depth. They can play 10 deep at times.
Dallas was a very deep team as well. In fact their role-players (Blair, Carter, Harris) helped them push it to 7 games.

I think a 2nd round series versus a VERY DEEP SA team will be too much.
Spurs in 6 or 7....as the Blazers run out of gas.

............

Portland's best chance is to win it quick.

Horns, I agree with your logic for the most part. However, I don't think 4 overtime series are going to affect the Blazers as much as you think it will considering that the core of the Blazers are still in their youth.

The Blazers went to 6 games with the Rockets. Four overtime series equals to an extra 20 minutes total, I think one went into double OT (I could be wrong) which would be an extra 25 minutes. The Spurs played an extra game which is 48 total minutes. The math doesn't favor the Spurs.

However, the Spurs are by far more experienced an have more depth. I still expect the Spurs to win this series.

Spurs in 7 :(

I think it will be a better series than some think, but ultimately the Spurs win.

I think it will be 2-2 after 4 but the Spurs will hold serve in G5 and sneak out of the Rose Garden with a G6 victory

I freely admitted that Portland would beat the Spurs in a first round series.
But, that lack of depth and long punishing minutes adds up the more series they play.

A FRESH 1st round Blazers squad would be almost too much.
But, Even if they beat SA, they will be playing on fumes in the 3rd round.

I expect Popovich to come at them in waves of fresh bodies.
The Spurs did not have a single player all season average 30 minutes.

Portland will be a true contender next season if they can simply acquire 1 or 2 roleplayers.

Their starting 5 is the best in the game. Their bench might be the worst in years.

Spurs in 6. Portland leaves the playoff with a standing o but the Spurs seem deeper. Portland should be able to clean the boards, though, but the bench and experience factor that the Spurs can bring is pretty legit.

At least you know how to make a proper game thread. You should sit down with that little girl, bksballer, and teach her how to do it sometime.
