so this 70 million is 55 mil if it this was done last year? Money is inflated, and is going to be so much more so in the next two years.

That being said, seems to me this was a strategic move to cripple OKC, one way or another.

Overpayment, 17.5 million a year for Kanter? Give me a break.

This is a great deal for Okc. In 4 years with the inflated contracts Kanters will look really good. And who says he to say he's going to start? Adams will probably start and then have Kanter and Waiters off the bench for instant offense.

Besides KD wanted this deal to get done so it happened. Just like getting Donovan. So in the end if this what it takes for KD to stay then there really was no other choice but to sign him.

So stupid for anyone to keep mentioning Harden. He wanted his own gig and he got it. I wish him luck with it.

One argument against going for Kanter...

Check out the Jazz defense before all-star (with Kanter)... And after all-star (without Kanter)...

I think I threw up in my mouth a little bit... How can a 6'11" dude be that bad on D?

That's what I figured. At some point, a team was gonna give him a max offer just to force OKC's hand. It worked

Seriously??

Go back and read the article. Look at the stats.

Kanter is an overall negative when he is on the floor. The points per possession OKC gives up with him in the lineup is really, really bad. Add to it that his offensive impact will be lessened when KD returns and I don't see how this can possibly be viewed as a good contract

This is simply the going rate for a big that can score. In 1-2 years the contract won't look so big.

Better than paying Reggie Jackson 80 million.

You can also look at the Thunder before and after, but I don't know the Thunder's team and injuries post and pre-All-Star.
