Pregnant former girlfriend was shot. From the story it seems like she was shot by someone who wanted to use her car, and she would not let them. Based on what ESPN has it seems like he was probably not involved in anyway.

They rushed the mom to the hospital to deliver the baby. I cant say for sure, but it sounds like the baby may make it.

I agree this could help push him into our laps. That being said, the fact that he's not a suspect at all shoudln't have any affect (effect?) on his draft stock, imo...

As a guy who sees the glass half empty I think it does hurt his draft stock. You are on the heels of the Hernandez murder conviction and he didn't start out as a suspect either.

Not implying in any way whatsoever that the kid did anything wrong but can you imagine being the team who drafts him early and suddenly that changes?

How much really separates him from Peat, Humpries, and Flowers? I was also under the impression that he doesn't really project as a LT in the NFL.

If that's accurate then this unfortunate incident could VERY easily cause a team to look at one of those other guys instead if they are going oline or even the next BPA on their boards. I would not be at all surprised to see him fall to 23.

wishful thinking, IMO.

I get Dr. Evil's point but I don't believe it's one of those instances. Hernandez had a history of hanging with his boys going all the way back to middle school and High school. The Collins ordeal, imo, appears to be more of the variety of what information might he be able to provide regarding her past relationships with people in general.

1) The GF, who apparently was not with him anymore... Is about to get child support from a soon to be millionaire.

2) She dies, baby lives... He still gets the joy of being a father without having to come up off any cheddar.

News cast stated he may be the father, but paternity at this time is not known.

Collins is a subject to be interviewed and the police have not identified him as a suspect. After interviewing that could change but doubtful from the reports I heard.

This has been the year of stupid for NFL prospects....Rey and Gregory both failing stupidity checks. Rey for lying saying his weed issues were in the past and Gregory going to the combine and dropping dirty.

The fact that the cops want to interview him at all is going to throw up red flags for teams everywhere. I sure hope he had nothing to do with it, but honestly, I wouldn't take the risk unless the cops turn over some concrete proof that he will not be charged, questioned further, 100% eliminated as a suspect...if not, he could slip out of round 1.

Not sure. I'm just stating if it is. A strong case for motive. Again, I'm not accusing. Just saying it would blow if we did draft a guy and turns out to be a Hernandez.

I think it's quite the stretch to suggest he had her murdered because he didn't want to pay child support... Reports said she was shot by someone who wouldn't let them use her car, so that suggests they already have the person who did it, or, at least know who it was...

At least Collins makes sense as a pick. As soon as the news broke Lions should have had a PI down there to get the scoop and evaluate the risk. Watch the Pats snatch him up and he ends up a perennial pro bowler
