Man, I swear, being a die-hard fan is probably one of the hardest things to do, especially when your team is the Detroit Lions. There's many parts to it but one of the most irritating things is dealing with emotional fans who express themselves in many different ways.

This "dislike" stuff about Ebron is old and dumb as shit if you ask me. Its cool to have an opinion but some fans absolutely run it into the ground. I bet most that complain wouldn't even be able to pick a player worth anything either. I never acted this way for weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks after over a player i didnt agree with. There were several of them. Here's the list:

Riley Rieff
N. Suh
N Fairley
D. Levy

Even though I didnt really like these players, I accepted it, moved on. I wanted Doug Martin over Rieff but i saw the good in Rieff. I liked Eric Berry over Suh. I wanted the Lions to trade up for P. Peterson or J. Jones instead of getting Fairley. This year, I wanted Gilbert, Watkins or Evans. The draft never goes my way. Guess I better start complaining.

Has anyone seen Ebron?

Ebron is taking it easy on teams so far to keep the games from being blowouts.

Pettigrew - why draft a blocking TE to help the OT's? Why not just draft an OT? You don't draft a TE that high if he's not a playmaker.

Ernie Sims - I was ok with the pick at the draft. I started disliking Ernie shortly after, though. Mainly be cause of th fans. At that time a reporter said "no team will ever win the Superbowl with a MLB named Paris", or something like that. I got my laugh just like everyone else, but when I watched the Lions games I noticed Paris Lenon was better than Sims. A lot better. I remember arguing on CBS with people who were adament about cutting Lenon. And when I suggested Sims was worse, of course I was crazy. So not that I despised Sims, but unreasonable fans definitely made me argue like I did.

Drew Stanton - thought he sucked. Then the Lions drafted him. Then idiot fans wanted him to be the starter. Smdh.

I would've been upset with Taylor Lewan. Or OBJ. I wanted Evans. I could go on and on from the Millen years, as I'm sure we all could. BMW? Don't get me started. Can we include coaches? Because Marinelli is a fuckin idiot.

Oh, I remember a lot of us on CBS wanted David Harris and were pissed when we passed on him. I forget who we did take. Without looking up I think that was the 3 2nd rounders Hawaii 5-0, Dizon, and the 3rd one eludes me

How do/did you not like Levy LionsTop? He's about as unnassuming a dude as it gets, and he wasn't really a high pick... Unless you're talking about him as a player, then I can see the beef- he missed a lot of tackles early-on.

As far as picks I didn't like? Mike Williams- hated that one, threw my soda at the T.V. (I was like 13 at the time, so no brewski's yet) and everything. Ernie Sims- thought he was way too small to be a top-ten pick as a LB. Didn't mind him as a player, but hated the pick used on him. Gosder Cherilus- I wanted Duane Brown or Mike Jenkins with that pick. Nick Fairley- wasn't a fan at all. He's done better than I expected. Eric Ebron- I wanted Aaron Donald in the worst way. Then Zach Martin. Then Odell Beckham Jr. Then Kyle Fuller. Then Ebron. We'll see how that shakes out...

I complain or whine about issues after a win. Show me a coach who after the so called perfect game does not find something wrong to work on on Tuesday and I will show you a coach who is out of a job.

Correcting Issues is not whining or negative. Needs to be addressed before it hurts down the road.

I also praise after a lose. Just gets looked over.

Doug Martin is about done. He's going to be watching some dude named Bobby Rainey doing his job by season's end. Definately glad that didn't happen. I'd also give up 2 Fairley's for Peterson. I had to laugh a few days ago I saw a thread from Seahawks fans about how much they hate Russell BLOkung and I couldn't help but wonder how many people still think we should have taken him over Suh.

I don't dislike Ebron and think his game has potential but I hate the pick. First they needed defense and secondly I think Fauria's game is very similar. The Lions then limit themselves to keep three TEs and not one is a blocking specialist.

I feel the same way about Fairley. like his game but thought the Lions would be better off with Quinn. We have argued that one to death.

I would have liked to have seen the Lions get a QB like Metzenbergh (sp).

I'm not sure we can say that so definitively any more. We all thought, at the time, that we needed defense with that pick, but, imo, it's pretty obvious that we didn't after all.

Still doesn't make Ebron the right pick (Brandin Cooks would have been a better pick if we wanted a pass catcher, imo)...

Hell no. Cooks or OBJ would've been a horrible pick. We already had shrimp size Tate signed, we didn't need another one

Just because defense is playing good at the moment does not mean ignore it IMO.

CB takes time to develop. Seems Austin is really getting everything from Slay. So a rookie would benefit immensely from Austin. Hindsight Donald your pick would be surely be worthy.

The WR after seeing post draft was Benjamin. Somebody was saying they loved him more than Watkins.

I've never had thoughts of high picks making impacts right away. Hell QB and others take years. I am more concerned 2 to 3 years out. With Stafford more like seven years.

Joey Harrington. The only QB I liked going in the 1st was Carr, and what a terrible class that turned out to be. We should have gone a different direction...probably secondary (actually landed a couple of decent OLinemen in the prior draft). Coming off a 2-14 season, there were holes everywhere. Oh, and there was that whole Millen as GM thing going for us.

:10:Agreed. We are good enough now that we can finally draft for the future instead of filling holes. BPA is the way to go from here on out. I think we can finally take that stance now.

Benjamin certainly has been better than Evans and Watkins (the 2 guys everyone was clamoring for). I am definitely on board with not ignoring defense. Mathis is old and will hit the wall soon. I still stand by my pick of Fuller last year. He is already doing pretty well with the Bears in his rookie year. He could be a shut down guy by year 3. I would still suggest a CB in round 1 or 2 at the latest next year. A D-line next year as well as some O-Line.

Have you watched cooks play? Holey shit he's explosive! Same case with Tate, who cares how tall he isn't? The dude tearing it up for us.

As for Beckham, he's 6'0" tall, so he's not exactly a small WR.

I'm just saying that if we wanted to add another offensive weapon, those two are both out-pacing Ebron by a pretty wide margin.

Kelvin Benjamin would have been a viable option if you wanted another big WR. He's also doing way better than Ebron from a production standpoint so far...

So is it BPA from here on out, like you led with? Or is it draft to fill holes, like you closed with?
