This why i said (in my post you quoted) that Dan might have orders from above to keep playing him regardless how bad he continues to play.

By not playing him screams, "we fucked up and should have never signed this 35yr old guy to a 4yr contract.

I hate that call. I know they make it all the time, but the onus should be on the defenseman to push offensive players into areas where the goaltender isn't.

While it's true that we can generate more momentum from a good kill of a struggling powerplay, but it stopped quite the scoring chance onslaught.

Fleury came up pretty big on that kill, it looked to me. Rangers' powerplay looked a lot more dangerous.
