Yup, the bats were alright today, despite the strikeouts, but the defense was largely far too lax.

all have cost us several games. rarely last year did our errors really haunt us.

alvarez and mercer seem to be playing good D altho i get this only from folioing on mld game day, not actually watching.

What do those of you who get to see the games say.

Not worried about the defense, just random hiccups. Although it has obviously hurt the Pirates so far.

Mercer has been solid so far this year, he's not as smooth as Barmes and has less range, but he is solid.

Pedro has been alright, he's misplayed some balls, but his arm gives him the ability to get the out anyway.

Pedro struck out looking on another pitch off the plate, this one off the plate in. I know it was close, but usually umpires give less leeway inside.

I was wondering, radio guys keep on complaining about the strike zone, but gameday has everything as a solid strike. I'm guessing gameday just sucks as usual.

It's amazing how bad the offense is when Marte and Pedro are not hitting.

Eyeball test and the K-zone agree that these pitches are off the plate.
