An excuse-me double from Freeman pulls the Braves within one.

Locke made a darned good pitch, Freeman chased, but he put it where no one was.

I saw Anthony Rendon got called up for the Nats. How has he looked? I perused his minor league stats and saw his plate discipline has been pretty remarkable on the farm, and he got on base awfully frequently, but I was just curious as to how you think he looks so far as a Major Leaguer.

He just got called back up today, hopefully for good. He was up at the end of April, had 25 ABs, and honestly looked like 10-year vet. Like you said, great plate discipline - pitch identification, elite bat speed. Kid is the real deal.

He was the player I most wanted out of that draft, but I guess I can understand passing on him after the injuries. Still, that kind of approach is a recipe for long-term success. I hope he pans out for you guys. I'm sure he will.

Locke is not on today. He's working from behind a lot, throwing a lot of pitches, and missing his spots. He's largely gotten away with it so far, but I hope this is not an omen for things to come.

PIRATES STARTING PITCHER WANDY RODRIGUEZ LEFT THE GAME IN THE BOTTOM OF THE FIRST INNING WITH TIGHTNESS IN HIS LEFT FOREARM.

Lets hope it is nothing serious.
As for the game and the series it will be very interesting the next couple of series to see how they rebound, I just hope this isn't the start of something bad like the last two years.

This was one of those series where nothing seemed to go the Pirates' way. That Freddie Freeman double in particular comes to mind. If not for that hit, Locke goes six and we probably win the game.

Today, though, we were just bad. But possibly losing Wandy, and having to go to the bullpen for the whole game, using tired arms and guys down low on the bullpen depth chart, just made things worse.

Hopefully the next series goes a little better...
