Well a lot of the talking heads have been beating the drum called "blame it on the defense" the past week or so because of the lack of turnovers. If you listen to say 1310 The Ticket, I swear you'll read some of the exact opinions here. Coincidentally they seem to occur shortly after a guy like Bob Sturm makes them. I'm not saying everyone here just repeats what they here on a radio station, but I do think that what folks read and hear will shape their opinions, as it's only natural. That said, the Defense didn't look great in some games and they haven't been getting turnovers, so some folks in the media started getting a little rough on that group.

Now all that said, it's hard to win when you turn the ball over multiple times. It's even harder when you allow a KR for a TD and an INT return for a TD. I don't know what the odds of winning games in which all that happens, but I gotta believe it's pretty lopsided.

Turnovers from the defense would have been nice, but I still can't put that game on them either.

100%. The % chances of winning on the road after giving up a defensive and special teams TD, 4 turnovers and a backup QB and #1 WR would compute to nearly 0. Yet, they had a shot at overtime right up to Beasley having the ball clank off his chest

The rushing defense was awful, every time the Giants wanted it...it was there. The reason the Cowboys loss this game is because Cassell had a noodle arm and was floating balls up and telegraphing them to the defense. Other than Lee and now psycho Hardy, who makes plays on this defense?

I'm not blaming Cassell for all those INTS. Williams quit on the pick 6 and he didn't even try to come back for the ball on the INT at the 1 yard line. With Dez out our wide receiver play has been horrible, were was Beasley all game? Drew Pearson said it best last night, this team needs a wide receiver route running coach, none of them know how to run a basic route and its sickening. I thought the defense was fine, they only gave up 13 points and shut Eli down for the most part.

The rookie Jones does. He makes a few mistakes, but that kid is a keeper

I thought the defense was gashed with the run. I also thought CArr was bad as usual. The defense did get off the field some and give us a chance. Just sad times

Take away that one TD drive the Giants had, then the run defense didn't look to bad. This game is not on the defense, it's on the special teams and wide receivers IMO. Wide receivers need to finish routes and fight for the ball, punt returners need to catch the ball before they look up field, and the kick coverage needs to tackle someone. Again I was fine with the play of the defense.

Outside of a series of runs by that unknown rookie and one Shane Vereen run the run D wasn't bad, the D is not to blame here.

Cassel all day over Weeden.

Cassel at least gives you a chance to win. Once teams figured out that Weeden wouldn't throw the ball downfield he was finished. Cassel just played his first game in a new offense, the results weren't great, but there is much higher potential with Cassel. Amazing what the running game can do when a defense actually has to defend down the field.

I'd take 13 points allowed every single week

Cassell still gives us better chance to win. We possibly win yesterday if not for Harris return. The run game was much better because cassel was throwing down the field.

When dez gets back they should put butler on the other side of him. Williams does not help the qb enough. He should have knocked the wounded duck throw down

Yes Sir! Jones will be very good in time, already one of the more dependable guys on the defense. Couple him with Gregory and Dallas looks to have knocked it out of the park in the first two rounds. Collins looked pretty good on the line as well.

Yea, very disappointed in T.Williams. He literally watched both interceptions happen. He doesn't make enough effort to come back to the football, and this is not a new problem with him.

Defense did not cost, but that non play by Carr on that randle 3rd down catch, hurt. I just want one game where the D or special teams win a freaking game and not lose one. ST and Int's lost this game.

Williams can go Fuck himself. I heard him throwing Cassel under the bus for staring him down and letting Cromartie jump the route on the pick 6. If Williams had run a better route than an average 7th grader, the pass would would have hit him between the numbers
