Which team do you think will be the longshot that nobody else can see right now that will be in this year's Final 4 Playoff?

Auburn and Michigan State would have been absolutely fantastic calls last year in the current system. Hell, Florida State would have been as well.

Thus, in 2014, who do you see that nobody else does that will make this year's inaugural College Football Playoff Final Four?

Northern Illinois my longshot

An undefeated team, from a non Power 5 conference, with a crappy schedule just might get spot #4.

All of that just might mask the fact that NIU has one of the easiest schedules in the nation. Plus they have two teams on the OOC Northwestern and Arkansas that might count as quality wins and UNLV that went to a bowl game last year(got thumped by North Texas.)

Not sure if they have anybody on the team since Jordan Lynch is gone. I do not follow them at all.

Would I bet this with real money? Hell no.

Washington. If Miles comes on strong early at QB, I think they can be the surprise team of the year. They'd have to beat at least one of Oregon or Stanford, maybe both, then beat whoever, my pick is UCLA, in the Pac-12 championship game.

Honestly Id take Iowa ( yeah yeah homer alert ) but the truth is the schedule is about as forgiving as you can find with no MSU, OSU, PSU or Michigan and getting Wisconsin and Nebraska both at home ( the last 2 games of the year ). Iowa should be 10-0 going into those 2 games.

Considering the sanctions, I'd call USC a bit of a longshot. The talent is there to get to the playoff, but the depth isn't.

This was my pick as well.

I was going there, but I am sure someone will bitch about "USC" bring a longshot.

Florida: defense will be fine. The offense is the question. East is the easiest road for a surprise team. If Florida can have a mediocre offense, they should be in the hunt for the East

TCU: this is basically the Florida pick in the big 12. New offense with a "new" senior QB, who was in the same system for 2 years.

Wisky: they get an early shot to catch the voters' attention with an early game vs an inexperienced LSU team. I really like their coach. Questions at DL and the passing game make this a bit of a stretch

Everyone is saying that. They'll still lose 4 games

There is a good chance that everyone loses a couple games in the SEC West. The Mississippi schools both look dangerous. LSU may stumble early, but watch out around mid-season. Auburn still has questions on defense. Bama is breaking in a new QB. This maybe the deepest year in the SEC West in a long time.

Possibly....but keep an eye on them. Prescott is getting very comfortable and Mullen's teams have always had good defense. They took your guys to the wire last year and have always played LUS tough. They get past those two, and the momentum it would give them....anything can happen

OK...but he's never had a quality QB like he does now.

Yeah, USC as a longshot is not something folks are used to seeing. But, with the reduced numbers, it is what it is. It felt weird even typing that. Hopefully, this is the last season that I'll have to.

North Carolina- schedule sets up well, road games @ Clemson, @ Duke, and @ Notre Dame gives plenty of schedule strength. Plus VT, GT, and NC State are all at home. Setting up for a possible 10 win season, maybe more with a little luck.

My first instinct was USC, but felt like they didn't feel like a big enough longshot. Talent is definitely still there, just a depth issue.
