Franchitti and two fans are taken to the hospital. Dario was awake & alert, but no further details on his condition (I suspect that his feet & lower legs took quite a beating), or that of the fans.

Great weekend for Dixon's championship hopes. For Helio's? - Not so much...

As for how we did...

Next Up: 500 miles under the lights (towards the end, anyways) for the season finale at Fontana on Saturday, 10/19. Dixon takes a 25 point lead into the night as he looks for his 4th series championship.

Crash Update:

Dario Franchitti suffered a concussion, as well as back & ankle injuries - which will not require surgery.

Yea but Franchitti has several broken vertebrae and a cracked ankle. I don't think he will be able to go in the last race in two weeks.

I am a huge DF fan and met him a few tims back in his Team Kool Green days in CART. Nicest dude there is. I hope the fans are all OK and Dario makes a speedy recovery. Check the full speed replay at the 1:30 mark.
