We all missed on Perez this race week-end. Perez may be surging and blowing by Verstappen as he clearly had the better Red Bull machine. Maybe this will be a story going forward and we will all know the answer when Verstappen starts crying-up a storm. We shall see how team orders will affect this competition in the future.

It seems like RB has tuned a bit of the knife-edginess out of the car and it might suit Checo better at this point. So yeah, it will be interesting to see if they go team orders, if Jos throws a fit or they adjust the car to fit Max better. Checo was millimeter perfect all weekend on a really tough track to get every sector right.

Verstappen had a hole in the sidepod Saturday, and bad timing on the pit yellow on Sunday. Checo got the breaks this weekend. I believe that RB is going to give Max the better car any weekend they can eliminate the luck factor.

I did find the post race amusing on Saturday when Max was yelling at Russell and Checo walked by. Max tells Checo congrats than did a double take realizing what he just did.

Going to hold off on crowning Checo until he can prove more metal vs Max on real race tracks. Today he got a lucky safety car (which happens on bot sides), and then did a nice job managing his tires on a stretched 1-stop race - exactly where he thrives. We’ll see if he can keep it up past these street circuits

Extremely timely video on this exact subject. Interesting how much better Checo is on street circuits. I agree he’s really not a threat to Max over the course of a full season.
