"Two-millimetre" error with clutch caused Hamilton's poor start

Lewis Hamilton said his poor getaway in the Italian Grand Prix sprint qualifying race was due to a mistake he made with his clutch.

Looking like they have a different reason than then PU for Lewis' struggle off the line.

You know, he has made a few mental errors this year that I don't remember him making in the past. I wonder what is going on?

I almost put RIC and NOR in the top two spots expecting Max and Lewis to tangle but I didn't. Of course, I would have had Lando winning. So chuffed for Danny though. What a result.

As for the incident - if the first one on the first lap was a racing incident then the one between Hamilton and Verstappen later can only be a racing incident. Exact same move by the car on the inside on the first part of the chicane. The only difference is that Lewis had the sense to bail out and go across the rumble strips because he knew he would go airborne if he tried to force it. Max was not that smart. At least Max gets to play the victim for another 2 weeks. He should be excited by that.

And solid praise for the halo in that one. And good thing the driveshaft apparently broke because even with the halo the tire made contact with Lewis' helmet. Good thing it wasn't spinning.

Oh shit:

I guess the stewards saw it the way I did that he should have had the sense to back out of it. Really didn't expect them to do it. And with the driveshaft likely breaking I wonder if the gearbox got damaged with it so that begs the question do RBR replace the whole PU at Russia where power is key.

I think F-1 is being introduced to American style racing with a legitimate rivalry. This is good. Hamilton needs to throw his helmet and get into a fight with Verstappen and then it would be full-blown American Racing in Europe. lol.
