Yea, maybe that would work.
Nobody was in the mood for giving up quality prospects for expensive older guys on the downhill.
The announcers on my telecast are chatting about the Phillies' lack of trades. The gist is that Boobens wasn't going to dump salaries just to dump them unless he got value in return. Huh? Wasn't some teams bitching that numbnuts wanted the world for some players?
I think either Ruben or the owners missed the whole point. Their mission was to pony up and pay their bad contracts (or most of them) for the team they traded these guys to so they could get some decent prospects.
