Burnett is on tonight. I hope we don't get hammered for three innings while he warms up. It usually takes to inning three or four for Burnett to get a rhythm and by then we are down 4 or 5 runs.

You called that one Retro!

It is a pattern Northeast with Burnett. He just can't get going early and teams know that and the same occurred last evening. Before that game, the last time he pitched he gave up 4 runs in the same amount innings eventually giving up 7. Last evening he gave up 5 before he was tossed and the rout was on. I don't know why we keep guys like Lee and Burnett around. Their careers are done and only going to get worse as they age. For Lee, he is probably totally done. We all know the reason why they are still here.

Welcome Iron Pigs 25 year old, 4.67 Hector Neris, 33K / 14BB. You gotta be better than 19.06 Offmont, 12 ER in 5 2/3 innings.

Did the Phils cut Offmont or send him down? Hector Neris hopefully will be better than that big stiff I watched yesterday.

The report says they optioned Aumont to Lehigh Valley. He's already been back and forth. I wonder how many chances a player gets.

Once again Howard is batting 4th. What a waste! Hamels will have to toss a shutout for the Phillies to win.
Howard is a rally killer. Ruf continues to rot on the bench. Sizemore is starting again because Brown has another sore throat. But at least Sizemore is hitting and contributing! Byrd should be hitting 4th! IMO.

I'll predict a Phillies win today behind a good pitching effort from Hamels. Howard is due to send one out off of Strasberg.

I'm hoping Howard can get lucky and hit a few HR's and someone will claim him off waivers prior to Aug 31st.

I agree Northeast. They really should be playing Ruf as much as possible.

Utely is 0-13 in this series. That is flat-out pathetic for a guy like Utely who came into this series on somewhat of a batting warm-streak.

Hamels has really come on as his fastball is getting faster and he has kept the opposition to low hits and very little runs. He may just be a keeper.

Hamels gets Werth swinging and no runs allowed in the first which is a stark difference from last evening.

Strasberg has 3Ks among 5 hitters so he is owning us pretty well.

Historically, we don't play very well on Sundays and today may be a one-run game to win it.

Six straight by Strasberg and four straight for Hamels. This could be a pitchers duel of a game.
