O.K. Realmuto. It is time for you to start hitting again, the way you used to before the DL!

Five runs in one Inning. That's what the Phillies are capable of when they want to play baseball the right way!!

Wheels is back for the 8th Inning. This game is finally turning into a complete game and Wheels is still pitching the shut-out!! You were right jvett. Wheels came back big from the embarrassment of giving-up 14 runs!!

Send another one over the fence Schwarber and run up the score just like they did a few games ago.

Nice relief finishing for the Phillies. The losing streak is finally over. Now I hope we go into LA tomorrow and continue the momentum and build a winning streak of equal length and size to the losing streak!!

I am parroting some sports pundits outside of Philadelphia, jvett. Peeps are always ahead of what is but we shall see. Usually extended performance negative results are beginning indicators of what IS happening internally. The Dildoes are beyond panic. They have some legitimate catastrophic problems they have yet to fix.

If the problem is large and deep (thus the term Dildoes), then you will see Thomson go. If it is periodic and superficial that fans want to believe, then there will be no worries.

It is indeed uncommon for a league-leading ballclub to suddenly go into a horrific tailspin that apparently has no end in the short term, but you and I know (being Phillies lifers) that this disaster is not temporary but symptoms of greater unresolved problem(s).

For sure, you know this. We have witnessed this before where the Dildoes don't recover and the season becomes an unmitigated train wreck. We have also seen them come-out of their funk and go on to better things.

If the latter becomes the norm, than the Dildoes will disappear and the Phillies will return. If the former becomes the norm, we are effed and the season is pretty much done.

Well, the Phils did well in the first half at .645, 62-34. BAs and RBIs were and ERAs were down for the most part. The last two weeks turned everything around. Both starting pitchers and relievers, hit the skids at a time when injuries cropped up among several key players.

It seems like the lineup got out of sync and BAs and RBIs declined. Pitchers seemed tired and blew 6 games with leads of over 3 runs. No one can really explain this. But one obvious factor is major slumping throughout the lineup especially by Harper and Marsh. I don't think it has anything to do with Thomson. He can't be blamed for Harper going from .374 (34 hits) in June to .149 (10 hits) in July, and for Marsh hitting .298/.411 in June then .182/.236 in July. It's baseball. I'm not worried about it.

The team still has very good players who are capable again of playing .600+ baseball just like today.

Another odd thing that happened is Schwarber somewhat disappeared in July but has come roaring back in August.
