i refuse to believe the carter and richards trades were bad trades and refuse to believe this is all because pronger is permanently hockey handicapped.

The longer this goes the more likely you're going to have to believe it had a lot to do with those moves - those guys are way more consistent than any of these guys - Flyers have zero leadership whatsoever - Claude Giroux isn't impressing as a leader and Scott Hartnell is the worst player to have an "A" on his jersey

gotta be honest i think it might be time to just kinda take it for a couple of seasons.. hold on to coots and schenn.. let morin, hagg, and ghost come up and get some form of farm system cranked up again.. the way the flyers look these days, they don't have the pieces to trade to fix all the problems they have.. just gotta be patient and let all these < 24 year olds progress

That very young core isn't going to be young much longer and if they don't develop like they aren't right now, it won't mean anything - these guys have been in the league for 3-4-5 years now and they're still not developing the way they should - it's time for some of these guys to put up or shut up - a lot of other young players around the league are developing but the Flyers are very inconsistent when it comes to some of these young guys - too much inconsistency from them

We are going to have to be patient with this team. The way I look at it is that we won't be serious cup contenders until we get our #1 defensemen. And at this point you better pray to God that one of Ghost, Morin, or Hagg becomes that guy. We have a very talented goalie in Stolarz in our system, two very good shutdown centers, and an elite center that is currently underperforming. Load up on ELCs, find Giroux his sniper (Virtanen or Kapanen are two guys I like in this draft) and let this team mesh.
