Awful low hurdle to leap over here. Tanks Uncle Phil. See ya in January!

12th is too high for us right now. We might be there at the end of the season, or even top 10. But with the depth issues at certain positions, that is too high to start. A couple of injuries at key spots and we could be in real trouble.

Specially AFTER that "L" your boyz are gonna suffer Sept.27th ya bastard.

Steele picked first, second, and third All-Conference teams for the AAC, so I assume he does the same for all conferences. That would require an amazing amount of research.

He has the greatest wall ever for watching college football games. He gave an interview a few years back where he had at least nine live games going simultaneously. Each game had its own intern who took notes on every play and highlights must watch plays along with their minutes and seconds. Sure he is more sophisticated now, but the guy knows his stuff.

12th is probably a little too high and they have serious depth concerns thanks to the NCAA fucking them over for one singular, selfish player's transgressions, but I think they're going to be pretty tough this year. They have some nice momentum and Sark is a good coach, better than people give him credit for in my opinion.

I agree, SC should be in the top 20, but probably more like the high teens. Too many ? and way to thin of an offensive line.

Only fact we have is that this list won't match reality at the end of the season.

I've bought his magazine every year since 06. He's a guru who is right about most things CFB.

12th is definitely too high for USC, they're going to need a year at least before being that good. Depth is too much of a concern also against a very difficult Pac-12 conference

Personally, I'd start us at about 18. The schedule is manageable and we project out to about 10-2 this season.

We are as talented as anyone in the country through about the 1st 30-35 players. If we have some good luck with injuries, we could even go 11-1 or 12-0. If we don't have luck re: injuries, we could slip to 8-4.

SC went 10-4 and finished like 19th last year if I recall right.

If you guys did go 10-2 in the regular season, you'd probably be close to or right at 10th or so. And if that happens it should be between you and UCLA for the PAC South, a lot possibly depending upon who wins the head to head match up. Seems pretty ambitious this quickly under the circumstances. It could happen though.

We have a pretty manageable schedule. OOC is Fresno St., Boston College and Notre Dame. The 4 toughest games are Stanford, Notre Dame, ASU and UCLA. I think we split those. Early lines have us -11 vs. ASU, -10 vs. Notre Dame, +3.5 vs. Stanford and +4.5 vs. UCLA. We don't play Oregon or Washington which are 2 of the top 3 in the PAC North.

If we have some decent luck with injuries, 10-2 should be doable. However, like I said, if we don't have some luck with the injuries we could easily go 8-4.

Michigan St should be ahead of Oregon.

We shall see Sept 6th. :suds:

Minus 13 in that game. Wow that's a lot of points. The oddsmakers are pretty clear as to who they think will be the better team. I wonder what it would be in East Lansing. Oregon -6 perhaps?

I would figure that Autzen is worth 6 points as a home field advantage. Well worth more than a normal 3 point home stadium advantage.

Take away that 6 and take away 4 to 5 more in East Lansing, and it would be close to a pick 'em I imagine. Likely Oregon favored upwards to a FG.

Phil Steele hasn't released his #8 through #1 rankings on his website yet. Do you actually know these to be his #8 through #1 rankings, or are you just guessing?

he released digital and preorders like a month ago and the magazine is set to hit shelves this week. most years you could find it earlier than the release date because stores get it and start shelving it when they get it.
