I think that's been pretty clear for a while, nothing really there that I didn't know before

Hopefully they can draft a little bit better and get more NHL ready prospects so that they're not having to trade all the time

still hurting from trading so many 1st and 2nd round picks away the past 5-6 years.. the pronger trade was murder to the prospect pool as well.. essentially gave up 3 first round picks for him.. those picks would be the guys battling for, or holding down, NHL spots right now

The move obviously looks bad right now because we made one serious Cup run, but failed to win it and now Pronger of course is done playing due to a freak injury that nobody could predict would happen. I still have to commend the organization for having the balls to pull off that trade. No move with that high of a reward comes without any risk and Pronger was still a great player for us until he went down. He had 12 points in the 13 games of his final season.

His stats altogether with Philadelphia:

15 goals, 77 assists, 92 points and a +30 in 145 games

We have yet to acquire another defenseman who is anywhere near that productive or effective.

It has already been pointed out, but the Pronger trade kind of shows why offer sheets don't work. Sure, Weber would have been nice but 4-5 years from now we'll be in cap heel due to lack of ELCs in the lineup.

If we had not rushed Sbisa and traded for Pronger we'd have a top 4 defenseman on a bridge deal, John Moore on an ELC, and Etem on an ELC. (Assuming we make it to the Cup Final without Pronger)

Yeah there is no way we make it without Pronger. The Rangers need up drafting tenth where the selected Dylan McIlrath over guys like Fowler, Gormley, and Tarasenko.
