Top players committing to 20 events.
12 "elevated" tournaments with purses between $15-20m
PIP increased from $50m to $100m and from 10 players to 20 players
Adding "earnings assurance program" to guarantee minimum $500k annual to exempt players. Rookies paid up front.
Non exempt players to get $5k for missed cuts
Reimbursements for travel and lodging for tournaments

Wonder if any of the LIV guys are regretting the move.

LIV is the reason for these changes. About time the players get to run the show. The pga tour’s bullying days are over. Now that woods and mcilroy are the new co-commissioners of the PGA, there is a chance for some Cooperation between LIV and the PGA

I'd be perfectly fine with all of this if it wasn't facilitated by Saudi Arabia.

End result is good. Means is pretty gross.

To me that is the worst possible reason to be against this. The American government and every major business in the U.S. does business with the Saudis every day but suddenly it’s not ok for golfers to do business with them? Give me a break

As I said before

I highly doubt you would feel that way if this was the NBA taking Saudi money.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by that but I don't think so. I'm not necessarily pro LIV, I'm anti PGA and their bullying tactics. I think golfers should be able to play whenever and wherever they want. At least now Monahan has basically been ousted and the players are finally in charge. With Mcilroy and Woods now running the show it might be possible for some sort of cooperation down the line.

This 20 event thing with all the top players committing to the new 20 million tournaments may cause those players to have to all take the same weeks off and this will kill the other tournaments that were not selected for big payouts. Typical shortsightedness by the PGA and unbelievably greedy for players like McIlroy and his ilk

Exactly. No one was losing their minds over the other team tour that was proposed. It's against the Saudi sportswashing

Again - Most semi-intelligent people are against those things as well.

Most semi intelligent people don’t hold different standards for different people unless they are angry that their heroes are not the only game in town anymore

Correct. We're holding the same standards for everyone that does business with the Saudis.

US government agreed to sell the Saudi's 115 billion dollars of weapons. We sold them more in 2021, it's how we roll.

Nope. You still buy gas and you still pay taxes to your government who keep the Saudis in power. I’m positive that you still buy products from all companies who do business with Saudi Arabia; it would be impossible not to

Yep but you still have clowns on this thread with their fake outrage about the Saudis getting into the golf business

I wasn't aware paying taxes was optional.

And my Rivian is still about six months out.

The Saudis are heavily invested in just about every sector of our economy so you can rest assured that you are supporting that regime with your dollars but I guarantee you don't care about that. This silliness about Saudi money in golf is because your heroes now have some competition, and you don't like it.

There is nothing fake about my outrage over Saudis getting involved in our sports.

Dealing with them in other affairs is a cost of business. Our sports are a huge part of our identity.
