The best sign of progress last week was that Peyton Manning seemed to have found his rhythm in this offense of hitting guys out of their breaks in full stride. If Peyton Manning rounds into top form as the season progresses - and the Broncos continue to play well on defense and special teams - it would be a story big enough for the national stage and one that could rival the Tim Tebow run. Old man launches one last try at the championship at 39 - they said he was washed up - maybe playing on the best team of all time.
There is analysis - there are facts - there are superstitions and coincidences, but there is something to the alignment of influences in John Elway's life that involves him in dramatic and heroic finishes. To be where the Broncos are now - with their potential as a team still to be realized - you would have to admit John Elway is something of a genius with an extreme flair for the dramatic.
