Smart move by Denver.... It's the only way Elway can keep fan support AND move away from the Tebow experiment. I think he's desperate to make it happen.

I can see it being intriguing for Elway as well. The offensive line played well last year, the receivers have talent, and John Fox will give him full control of the offense. Add all of that to an impressive defensive unit and I think you have a contender.

I think people are overrating Denver's defense a little bit. they were ranked 24th in pts allowed, and 20th in yds....

and Brady absolutely torched them in the playoffs...

it's an average at best defense imo..

tbh I wouldn't mind seeing Manning in Denver, because if he's healthy, the thought of him and Wayne in Miami is scary.. that's a rare 6-10 team with elite talent at all of key spots outside of QB..

I think the Chiefs have a much better defense, running game (assuming Charles returns ay close to 100 percent), with more proven WRs than Denver

Denvers defense was either on, or off.

When ground and pound was working, then Denver's defense was working.

They definitely were inconsistent - But in some of their games they had absolutely no offense to speak of which I think contributes to those numbers. I think they have some decent players on D and I also think Fox is a good defensive coach which is why I consider them a threat.

They definatley lacked a traditional passing game when Tebow was on the field, but he never turned the ball over, and they had the most productive running game in the NFL because of his skillset. so essentialy the Tebow offense never gave the opposing team good field position with turnovers, and chewed up clock by running the football on almost every down.. as far as helping a defense you could argue that those factors offset his deficincies

last yrs Denver team got it done with a gimmick offense. it was smoke and mirrors imo..

if Peyton's healthy he makes most teams in the NFL better by leaps and bounds.. Denver included..

I just think the overall talent is better in KC and Mia despite the worse record. they have explosive RBs, true number one WRs, and better defenses.. I will give Denver the advantage on the OL, and given Manning's health and age that could be an important factor

Still thinking Miami has the inside track.....he has a home there, and Peyton is the ultimate creature of habit.....

He might not want to deal with 4 games against the Pats and Jets...... That's a tough conference. Play for the Chiefs, Broncos, or Cards and you have an inside track at the playoffs.

another interesting factor...

there's no income tax in Fla, so Manning could concievably pocket more money even if his contract pays him less there..

that team has so many things going for it..

Marshall is a top 5-10 WR if he has a compotent QB. Bess is a very good slot/posession WR. Bush averaged over 5 yds per carry and is one of the best pass catching RBs in the leauge. the OL is solid. their defense is borderline elite..

even with Matt Moore I think they're better than 2/3 of the leauge. with a healthy Manning (and Wayne?) that's a scary team

I wonder how Joe Philbin feels about it. I'm sure he'd love to have Manning, but I also wonder if Manning will want to run the Tom Moore offense - Not Philbin's (Not sure how different they really are). Could be an interesting dynamic.

The GM/Ownership should have given him the heads-up on the plan before he signed there. but I wouldn't be suprised if he'd rather Manning played out West so he can bring in his own guy to run his scheme (Flynn)

Just had a thought.

now that Cleveland is out of the RG3 race, maybe Manning could go to the Browns.

....

Can you imagine, however, if the Ravens woke up from their "flacco is awesome" delusion and signed Manning...

either scenario would suck.

carry on.

Denver's defense is good enough that with a consistent offense that gives them time off the field, they could jump into the top 15. Being on the field after 10 straight 3 and outs before the 4th qtr comebacks wears on a defense.

course, I just tuned in online, and it doesn't sound like it yet.

If he already decided on TN, then it wouldn't make much since for him to work out for Denver.
