I have been writing about Pete Rose for years and have stood up for him to get into the HOF but having his plaque say how he gambled on baseball as a manager. His playing years earned him a spot in the HOF and if you study gambling addiction it's like a drug and Rose got caught up in that addiction.

The problem with Pete Rose is he always seems to put his foot in his mouth. Rose's personality saying the wrong things has made it harder for him to get into the HOF. If he would of told the truth about his gambling addiction from the beginning , asked for real forgiveness and not came out with a book later way down the road of all the lies he told hiding it ,he might of been given more slack by the commish.

Now Rose just came out and said .... I guess I picked the wrong vice . I should of picked drugs or beat my wife. He comes across as a very bitter man. He dug a hole for himself , should be more humble and be embarrassed . Instead he comes across as a pompous jerk.

Rose just does not get it. I know he was just being sarcastic (hopefully) but his words just seem to irk people instead of inspire people. Pete Rose was one of the great baseball players of all time and I still believe he should get into the HOF but he needs to learn how to zip his mouth shut .Pete Rose continues to step in s#it every time he opens his mouth. I wish he would just talk ball because he is very knowledgeable about the game and I enjoy his stories about the game. Next to Ted Williams ,Rose might know more about hitting than anyone else who ever played the game.

I am glad Pete Rose has taken the piss on the HOF for as long as he has and continues to do so in the future. The HOF is filled with bullshit rhetoric that has become irrelevant for the sport, including the limelight of the steroids era. I think Rose does get it, and it is not Rose's responsibility to inspire anyone, let alone move the masses in to this idealistic mantra of what the sport is and isn't. Most fans that are upset with Rose would have to have a hard case of cognitive dissonance, unable to separate exactly what moves players and fans alike; ie, the game it self, and not the bullshit that surrounds some of the players. Leave it on the field, and celebrate what happened on the field. But no...

I can't say I wouldn't be bitter if I were in his shoes. Aside from missing out on baseball's biggest honor, he's seen players cash in BIG TIME on careers marred by drug use. Pete loves the game. You know he would take any type of coaching position, and while he can't, Mark Mcgwire can.

Two wrongs don't make a right. PED's are bulls#it and the penalties are not right. Rose broke the most sacred of rules in MLB and he f@cked up. They are all f@cked up . Rose dug his own hole and he needs to quit bitching and start making restitution for his own lies. He broke the one rule that is listed in every clubhouse in baseball and states if you break it you're out of baseball.

That said I think Rose should be in the HOF for what he did on the playing field as a player but Rose can be a pompous ass sometimes and he continues hurting his chances with dumb bitchy comments that piss off the people that are keeping him out.

That said ....I am tired of all the bulls#it in baseball today. It makes me think is there anyone playing today that is legit? I try and look for the good guys but the spoiled brats of greed keep me pissed off. What happened to the game man....what happened to the game ?

Gambling in sports is the third rail.

Look at the NBA. No one trusts it 100% because of the cloud over it.

Drugs are bad (mmkay), but it just does not measure up to gambling.

All my humblio, of course...
