What a great game! One of the best college basketball games I have seen in a long time. Wisconsin was just better. Kentucky didn't play their best game, but they didn't play poorly either.

Frank Kominsky and Sam Dekker were the two best players on the court. Dekker made some really heady plays and made some big buckets when they were needed most. Kominsky played up to his reputation against some really stiff competition.

The refs were pretty good in the first half, I thought. In the second half they were all over the place, missing calls against both teams on multiple occasions. In the end it doesn't seem it gave one team any distinct advantage.

Just a great game.

I'd have to agree, Kaminsky and Dekker were awesome, though I think KAT is just as unstoppable. Interestingly, Cal told the team to get the ball inside to Karl when the Cats had a 4 point lead, and the Twins proceeded on going 2 on 5. Guess they wanted to go out with a bang. Wish they'd followed sound advice

The refs were bad both ways and a basket after a shot clock violation is not reviewable and a momentum swing, as well as possession change and 2 points. That was a big time call not to be reviewed when it was so clear. I hate dumb replay rules

In the latter part of th second half I'd have to say the refs were utterly horrible. I've never seen a game with so many bad calls in a row, or at least so many in such a short period. Luckily the bad calls went both ways.

Wost officiated game I've seen at that point in the tournament that I can remember. Did they pull those refs from the NFL phone book?

I didn't have a dog in the fight both teams were great. I thought the officiating was very one-sided for the Badgers. Didn't check the stat box calls may have been even, but impact and momentum swinging calls/no calls were very pro Wisconsin. I hate Duke but i'm probably gonna pull for them at this point. In real news the Longhorns got a new coach.

Boy I have to disagree with that. No flagrant on that play? Calling that ticky-tack away from the ball charge with an obvious embellishment right before the 3 pointer was released? Crazy blocks and charges that went Kentucky's way at huge times? It was insane. Of course calls went against Kent too. The shot clock violation. Also the whole block/charge thing. It was like they got almost every call wrong

I thought there were lots of bad calls against Wis in the first half, then lots of bad calls against Ky in the 2nd. Really just one of the worst officiated games I can remember. The refs sucked.

I thought Lyles clearly should have got a flagrant 1, it was already Wisconsin ball, but they should have gotten 2 foul shots. I also thought the 2nd charge was a block. Those were big calls that went against Wisconsin

Thought there were a few tough ones that went the other way. Obviously, the bogus foul as the shot clock read 1, the foul call when Kaminsky drove to the basket, no contact at all. Also, earlier in the game, there was a scramble under the basket and the Wisconsin player didn't reestablish before he scored.

Terrible game for the refs. Bad calls both ways, Wisconsin just played better

Thanks Bro, no one to blame but themselves. They should have been going to KAT against Kaminsky the entire game in the post, but when Andrew waived off Cal, 3 times in a row(1 time!), I wish Cal had gone Carlisle/Rondo on him and yanked him for Ulis

I think the game was lost by Calipari. Bo Ryan drastically out-coached Calipari IMO. As you said, Calipari let the inmates take over the asylum at the end and lost control of his team. There was also the tidbit before the game about how Calipari said he didn't even bother to review Wisconsin's game tape. Pretty arrogant...

Yep, gotta admit, that was stunning to hear, especially against a structured team like Wisconsin, there would be a lot more there for UK to use. Hearing that Cal specifically told them to go inside to KAT with a 4 point lead and getting waived off by Harrison is surprising. That Cal left him in the game to do it 3 times in a row is something he'll have to live with forever

Calipari is a great recruiter, but he is a middling coach. Only when he has elite talent does he win anything, and even when he does have superior talent he still manages to blow it.

This was the team that coulda/shoulda gone the distance. A better game coach would have gotten them there.

I can't help but think back to Calipari's Memphis team with Derrick Rose. That team is another example of Cal having the much more talented team and blowing it.

Rose lost to Kansas in '08. Rock Chalk all the way. My son was a senior there that year.

Cal is awesome at UK, but he has lost in the final four/championship several times when he had the most talented team. Simply out coached. Saturday night was case in point

I agree, but I think there are a lot of coaches like that. As a Syracuse fan I can tell you Boeheim often coaches like he's never seen a basketball game before...
