Although, I'm not sure why I should do this...last thread was my play by play basically. Hah. Anyhow, rematch with more realistic line-ups. *Side-note* Tonight was the "Ultimate Fan Night" at Consol. Players who look good so far:
1. SIMON DESPRES-Awesome. That's all I gotta say.
2. Eric Tangradi-Could be the beneficiary of playing good minutes with Sid and Geno, but still, solid, solid performance.
3. Kris Letang-Playing with some nice truculence and smart. Solid D tonight from him, and good grit!
4. Marc-Andre Fleury- Solid. The goal that was scored was in traffic and fluky. Held when he needed to. Great to see.
Other noteables:
Mason looked back in form for the Jackets
Michalek is a very fluid skater, SO SOLID on D
Asham still looking like a fantastic pick-up
CEC was a ROCKIN' tonight with all the youth in the building. So awesome to see.
GENO FIGHT???!!! Epic beatdown of Nash there.

I think Corey Potter played himself on the team last night. He was a bubble player for sure, but that three on one that he shut down will get him at least the 7th spot. Not only that play, but he will add a big body presence on the back end, if needed. I don't think he'll crack the starting line-up, but he'll be make the Pens roster.

Despres looked good enough where I would give him the chance in the first 9 games. And then go from there.... serisouly. The way he times stepping up in the neutral, he's got a quick stick, evident in a few poke checks, blocked a few shots, nice pass, quick release from teh point and he's not afraid to use. Nash came down 1 on 1 against him, and Despres kept him to the outside and forced a turn-over from him. I just don't know if he will be physical enough this year (what the Pens are lacking)... well, I don't think he has a chance this year, but he differently played like he does.

Tangradi or Kennedy couldn't buy a goal last night... they both were noticeable out there.

Letang... I like this side of him. And I'm sure coach does to... needed from the backend.

Nice to see Despres is doing well. Us Sea Dogs fans really miss him. Can't wait to get him back but I hope he gets at least a few regular season games first.
