Miiiike Comrie off a Letestu shot-pass. Nicely done gents, nicely done. 5-3! Now THAT was a pretty play!

I'm not sure about anyone else, but I'm getting a little excited about this Comrie pickup. He looked legit with Malkin against the Red Wings and he scored again last night. For what the Pens are paying him, he could prove to be a very valuable player. Not saying he'll be amazing or anything, but he could be a nice piece. Still early though.

He's actually been the best player on the ice for probably 4 of the 6 periods played. Last night he was by far the best player last night (got 2nd star) had probably 8 shots on goal, great position, played hard and gritty, got to the part of the ice where he needed to be. He's got the makings to have a rebound season (20+goals) and be extremely helpful on the top 6. Could certainly be the steal of FA.

There's no way Letestu shouldn't make the team either. He's been on fire all camp. Scored 3 of the total 4 goals in the Penguins' scrimmages I saw last weekend, and has been great in the preseason games. Just don't know where he'd fit in the lineup. Cooke-Talbot-Asham seems to be the third line the Pens wanna go with sooooo....

It's gonna be very interesting to see who all gets to stay up. Letestu may just get the shot at the open C spot with Staalsie being out. However, we've still yet to see some Big Dog action. I still think TK's on the outside looking in.

Tangradi played in game 1 against Detroit with Malkin and Comrie. He looked pretty good. Not a performance that would assure him a spot on the team though.

Kennedy missed some scoring chances in game 1. He had a wide open net at one point and whiffed on the shot.

That's what I thought but then I saw the lineup posted on here and wasn't sure. But then I counted and saw he would have made 7 D-men. My understanding is that there is little to know chance of him making the Pens this season with the added depth on D, but that he might stick around and play a few games (max of 9) before being sent down to junior. Does that sound right? We miss him down here (already 2 weeks into the regular season) but it would be nice to see him get some regular season action before coming back. Hopefully it will make him that much better of a player when he finally does come back.

Some of the buzz i have heard here is exactly what you have said. He may get the 9 game look and get sent back to juniors. I think the Pens are counting on him to continue to develop and join the NHL next season.

His fluid skating and breakout passes in camp were very impressive from all accounts i saw and heard about.

Sounds good to me. We get him for the majority of the season this year and you guys get him full-time next year. :D

He'll probably play in the World Juniors this year too so you guys should be able to get a decent look at him against his piers then also.

As has been said through out this convo, unless he pulls a Staal, he's not gonna be a full timer up here. If we really are in need of a 7th or replacement Dman, it's gonna be someone like Engelland or the like. He's looked good in some of the vid I've seen and all reports are sparkling. Don't worry, you'll be getting him back ;)
