Speaking of managed by dinosaurs, why did they saddle the two best and most exciting players on the Metro roster with probably the least talented player in the All Star game as their defenseman? It would have been something to see if Crosby and Ovechkin got Faulk or Jones as their defenseman, but they got turnover-machine and "defensive defenseman" Ryan McDonagh instead, much to my chagrin.
Faulk was with them at the end of the period vs. the Atlantic and we saw the result. I was hoping that would carry over to the finals but no dice.

Exactly, they had one shift with a talented defenseman, and they completely dominated and scored a goal. Every time McDonagh touched the puck, the play fell apart. He couldn't keep up with them.

Yeah I thought the same thing. Why would you have him out there with Crosby and AO?

Time to try Kessel with Crosby, methinks. Rust is a nice piece on Crosby's line when there's a skilled player on the other side, but I don't know that he'll work with someone like Hagelin or Kunitz on Crosby's left side.

Hagelin has a concussion. I am not a fan of the hit that gave it to him.

From the little I just read about Hainsey, it seems the best word to describe his NHL abilities is solid.

He can play on the right side, and has done it before, even though he's a left-handed shot. He can regularly skate 20+minutes a night and his fancy stats are underwhelming, but they also don't point to him being dead weight, either.

He is also currently the longest tenured (most games played) player in the NHL that hasn't made a post-season start. Here's to hoping Hainsey is breaking that streak in another month or so

Hainsey is two things the rest of the d-core isn't:

1.Durable
2. Able to kill penalties.

At least they didn't need his playoff experience. :drum:

Reese 6 pts in his first 4 AHL games. One of his goals was a nice tip while in front of the net. The little I saw of him I am wondering if his style would fit better with Malkin?
