He goes coast-to-coast and scores a beauty for Portland last night (about 2:35 into the video)

Note: The play-by-play guy is very loud and has an irritating voice...

Since Jordan Staal he is the teams best draft pick.

As for the announcer he is still better than Steigerwald...errr...I guess that doesn't take much.

He's almost boom goes the dynamite-esque.

Just awful!!!

Nice goal by Morrow though.

I noticed that Bartschi was in on a lot of those highlights Dash. He could be a good one.

If he hadn't had a bad game in our last preseason game, he may have gotten a cup o' coffee in the bigs.

As soon as Feaster announced his name at the draft, I was very happy. He seems to be one of those guys that attracts the puck (unlike Stajan who repels it).

Morrow was tearing it up in the one preseason game I saw of the Pens. Was probably the best player out there for them at the time.

Andy Kemper is as horrible announcer as you will ever find. Which is too bad. The guy he replaced in Portland was one of the best ever.

Morrow is going to be a fantastic defenseman. His play in the defensive zone can still lack at times, but it will get better. Offensively, he's very good. As a fan of a division rival, I'm counting the days until he's out of Portland. :D

In case you were wondering there's still a chance Nino goes back to Portland. Right now he's out of the lineup due to injury, but the Isles have only played 4 games.

I saw where Nino was injured. It's too bad about that, I thought he would stick with the Islanders, but missing a couple weeks is going to set him back. Portland is still good this year, but they're not great as things stand right now. However with Columbus looking like they're not going anywhere and with Nino's injury it looks like Portland will get both Niederreiter and Johansen back. That would bump them up to WHL favorite very quickly. Portland still needs a goalie though. Carruth is terrible and he was their undoing in the WHL finals last year against Kootenay.

Well they could always trade away the future for a goalie right? If they get Johansen & Nino back it's definately a go for the Cup year.

For sure, if both of those guys are back then Portland has gotta go for it this season. Johansen, Bartschi and Nino are surely gone next season as 20's. Rattie could potentially stick with St. Louis as a 19. Their top 3 defenseman this year, Rutkowski, Morrow and Wrenn are all out of there after the season is done. It wouldn't shock me at all if the Winterhawks target Calvin Pickard from Seattle. If they get Nino and Johansen back and can make a trade for Pickard, I don't see any way that they don't win the WHL.

He's the Pickard drafted by Colorado right? He's a top prospect for sure. At this point I'm not sure if Nino is even skating yet. There was talk the Isles might have to keep him because of his cap hit. However, they've added Staios at 800K & Pandolfo at 600K. The cap might not be an issue if they send Nino back.

The Tigers are off to a good start this season (Etem is racking up the points).

Yup same Pickard. Kid's a stud and the Thunderbirds have absolutely wasted his career with their crappy teams. Kid deserves to play for a winner and he would put the Winterhawks over the top for sure. It wouldn't shock me to see Nino and Johansen get sent back right around Christmas, just in time to skate for their respective world junior teams. It would definitely be in both Nino's and the Islander's best interests to have him rehab with the pro team who have better facilities than a junior team.

I still hate DWil over that move. And to the Ducks? Really? :L:L That one is gonna bite the Sharks in the ass for years. Medicine Hat always seems to do well. Don't know what it is in the water up there but they know how to put good teams together. I thought they might have some issues once Desjardins left, but the franchise hasn't missed a beat. Etem is already the front runner for MVP IMO.

The Chiefs have gotten off to a slow start this year although their 5-2-1 record may suggest otherwise. Their last 3 games have been come from behind wins all at home. That might fly at the start of the season, but it's not a recipe for success long term. I'm still not sure what to think of the team yet. It would help if they played more though. As a fan the lack of games in their schedule so far has been brutal. Portland and Tri-City have already played 3 and 4 more games respectively than the Chiefs.

What do you think of Brendan Richton? I know he had a really good year last season. Is he a future NHLer?
