Players getting free cocktails and $100 handshakes pales in comparison.

One is a sickening scandal being dealt with by law enforcement. The other is a "scandal" that gets dealt with by NCAA by-law "enforcement".

Pay for play or whatever pales in comparison to what happened at PSU.

LOL

Leave it to a "U" fan to see this as an opportunity.

Nah, just seeing the irony. We should get what ever punishment fits the crime.

People were calling for Miami's head on a stick for nothing compared to this.

Apples & oranges.

The two should not even be compared.

In the big picture, no. But there was an institutional issue. There were people who knew and covered it up or said nothing. So in a roundabout way it's Macintosh apples and gala apples.

To be clear, I, in no way think the NCAA can or should get involved.

I agree they shouldn't even be compared. This is not the same as paying players. Paying players gets you a bowl ban and loss of scholarships, this bullshit gets somebody put in prison, which they deserve.

+1, he needs a good ass whoopin.

I just found it interesting that when the OSU and Miami stuff came out it was a "big scandal" on these boards. When in reality it was nothing compared to this.

Penn State is not a football rules scandal. The NCAA should have no involvement in this. This is a violation of real laws where people go to jail. No one will get jailed from the Miami and Ohio St situations.

The Feds may get involved at Ped State, it is much worse than NCAA violations.
