Penn state 2019 Recruiting Thread

We are about to catch fire on recruiting trail, enjoy next 3-4 weeks with 19 and possibly a huge 20 commit

Jaquan Brisker appears to have committed. Probbaly realized that his spot was going to be taken unless he pulled the trigger. How many DBs do they plan on taking in this class? Already have Ellis, appears that Brisker is onboard now. Looking good for Kelly, Rudolph, and Wilson. PSU also appeared to be in a good spot for Lewis Cine as well as Jorey Porter Jr. Can they fit all of these guys into the class? I really hope they didn't just bump Cine for Brisker, I would much prefer Cine.

Brisker is a STUD, staff LOVES him. He could also end up at OLB, I think cine is a plus 1 type kid. Rudolph/Kelly/Wilson may be playing musical chairs for 2 spots. I think Porter gets shutout.

What do you mean by plus one kid? He's a take if they miss on someone else and have an extra spot? And considering Rudolph and Kelly both have committment dates set, do you think that leaves Wilson as the odd man out? I was under the impression that Rudolph and Wilson were somewhat interested in playing together, I hope not being able to take 1 doesn't drive the other away.

Ah. Thanks for the clarification. I'm glad to hear that because Cine is a beast, he's probably my personal favorite of all the DB's that PSU is in on for this cycle. Will definitely be interesting to see how the DB recruiting shakes out though. You can never have enough DB's so it's good to see that PSU is in on quite a few high caliber ones this cycle.

True but at the same time the PSU Facebook page advertised the crap out of Barkley and others going at the combine, going in to the draft and post draft. So I will agree that it is Franklin using his resources wisely but you have to have a resource to use and he has the guy going into this season that is being called one off the highest potential draft picks in 10 years.

I don't disagree with any of the comments. I also know when recruiting you point to guys who are heading to the NFL because a lot of kids are hoping for that. Franklin was a good recruiter at MD. I am sure he knows the kind of recruiters he wants. It is a win, win situation.

This entire staff follows the ABC method....Always Be Closing....Franklin surrounds him self with people like him and the energy they bring is contagious. I never worry about losing assistants because Franklin has never missed a beat filling the spots.

What does that mean for Kelly? Rudolph commits Monday, looking for for that commitment, is there still room for Kelly?

Not sure how that effects him. I am curious to see if he gets shutout and they wait out Cine or they take Kelly and Cine if boh want in. That's a lot of DB in 1 class. I guess you can RS half and be very selective with DB ships next year and stay at 1 RB or QB this class. Will be curious to see how it unfolds

I hope he doesn't get pushed out. I think Kelly is probably a better player than whatever 2nd RB or QB they realistically could get.
