But PSU is going to get trounced by at least 50 points lol.

Also looks like Emmanuel McGirt will be driving from NC this weekend for an unofficial. This seems like a positive considering he could have taken an official and flown but presumably is saving that for December when all the other commits are on campus.
The list this weekend is off the charts impressive. McGirt on his own dime is huge, get him back for an official as well. Tommy Stephens will be there and most likely end up our QB in this class and Pitt recruit Bowers is coming as well.
Settle just seems to be too much of a risk academically and even the VT 24/7 site says they seriously doubt he plays at any college next fall. Apparently he may even have to go JUCO as he may not be able to get into a prep school. Too bad he didn't get the academic kick in the ass 2 years ago bbecause reports are he's worked very hard and improved but teh situation was so bad he may not overcome it and we need guys who can play NOW
I've heard the same about Settle, it really sucks because he had a really good shot to land him. In fact, there was even talk that he tried to commit but the staff told him to hold off until his grade situation became clearer. That being said, it does sound like he is working very hard now to get everything in order and I have heard that the classes he is taking now can swing his situation pretty dramatically so there is a bit of hope. Hopefully he can get it in order cause he's definitely very talented and I would like to see him playing D1 next year, be it at PSU or elsewhere.
Overall grades are junk if he has turned it on this year and has had marked improvement once he took things seriously then they need to go by that, the past is in the past, current and future should be what matters. His scholarship would be tied to his academics any way if he doesn't make the grade he won't play. Have to take the risk from time to time.
On a side note are we looking at any Punters? as we seem to have an amputee as our current punter.
would disagree, how many commits do we take each year that we expect big things from and they don't pan out whatsoever? And can name some big ones right off top of my head Antonio Logan-El (never played a down as a 5 star) Rob Bolden, Kevin Newsome, Corey Jones, Austin Scott, Mark Farris, Anthony Morelli, any of our Transfers from sanctions. Every year we miss on someone if not more than one.
We have been playing at a disadvantage as it is and just got extra Scholarships back. Use one of those extra on a low risk - high reward player like Settle. Worse case he doesn't qualify and his scholarship goes to a well deserving run-on.
Any word from any recruits at the game what they thought?
I think his grades may be a little blown out of proportion or you would actually hear about them from scout sites as opposed to just hearsay. What you have been saying has be WAY more extreme than anywhere else posted around the net from other teams recruiting him.
Lots of positive quotes coming in from tons of recruits that attended.
Oh yeah, LOL, i tweeted a pic of Bowers, the Pitt commit in PSU gear said it was a good look for him and he followed me back immediately.
Everything coming out from recruits is VERY favorable. They won't see another atmosphere like that anywhere else. Even Urban Meyer said he had to take his headphones off a couple times to see how loud it was and said its not possible to get any louder
Actually feeling a little optimistic on Burrell
