Bo was on Sports Nightly, Bo had mentioned he liked fishing in the offseason, later a caller asked Bo if when he was fishing, and the fish weren't biting, if he ever thought about changing his tactics. LMAO!

He thought it was funny but he didn't fall for it

It may not make matters worse but the players aren't stupid. If they see anything resembling even moderate change now, they are going to lose faith or worse panic because they'd think that's what the coaching staff is doing. Just spend the two weeks teaching them how to tackle. That alone would be a huge positive step.

I disagree. The players need a scheme change and once they see how that will help them, they'll gain confidence. Mark my words!

Any major changes in scheme or personel needed to be done Jan 2nd 2013 at the latest. That's when the long term trends were no longer suspect that it could be anything other than Bo's methodology. Only a complete idiot would blame anybody but the guy in charge of the product.

In the private sector that person is either demoted or fired unless they own the company.

Agree.

The players attitude and effort are a 'product' of the problem. Not the actual problem.

This is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth!

Papuchis is trying to sell that they now have the pieces in place to make this scheme work, and it'll be a couple more years before the big payday.

Sad really.

For the current scheme, I would completely agree. HOWEVER, I am not sure that I am willing to wait 2 more years.

They aren't doing well recruiting D-linemen lately so the cycle will likely repeat itself anyway.

In 2 years we will have OSU Wisconsin Fresno st and Tennessee on our schedule. Id say we d better have the best D in thecountry by that time or theyll be putting knots on our heads as fast as we can rub em.

Papuchis can give excuses to his next boss. We dont have two years to develop.

I guess we have our answer.

Listening to Jay Moore on 1620 he says that Nebraska played "heavy" up front against Minny.

What that means is that the D lineman "tie up" the O lineman to keep them from getting to the next level (LB's). It leaves "gaps" just like Charlie Mcbride alluded to. It's paddy-cake against the run game.

Bo has not changed his D philosophy one iota. It's why Nebraska's D looks like it's playing on it's heels and getting punched in the mouth week to week the last 3 years running. Bo is intentionally taking his D lineman out of the game and that's why quality D lineman don't want to play here.

Couple Bo's D strategy with a Strength and Conditioning Coordinator with ZERO experience leading a program and you get what we've gotten. Any O-coordinator worth a damn who has an O that can run the ball has his game plan gift-wrapped by Bo.

I pray that Eichorst doesn't give this staff another off-season to piss away. Do not threaten that Bo "make changes or else". It was painfully obvious after the 2012 season that the philosophy needed to change. Time's up on Nov 29th. Stubborness or stupidy (whichever it is) should be shown the door.
