I thought the Fatman had at least one playoff win in him this postseason - but the same predictable formula does him in again.

48 rushes would have soooo won it. Totally.

maybe it would, maybe it wouldn't. but you know what didn't? predictable andy reid and his constant west coast passing attack. 14 carries in a tight game, at home, is HORRIFIC.

12 of the Chiefs passes came on the last drive. They were getting nothing on the ground. They tried all first half. The Steelers had it locked up. But you are probably one of the people that thought we should have wasted more runs in the SB instead of throwing it to a beasting TO.:L

Did you see Ben ice the game with two completions?

And in other irrelevant news GB had 43 pass attempts and 17 carries, NE had 27 carries, 38 pass attempts, and freezing rain is in the forecast for tomorrow.

1st drive: 7 yard run, 7 yard run, PASS, PASS, PASS, PASS.

2nd drive: PASS, PASS, PASS, 0 yard run, PASS, PASS.

3rd drive: 3 yard run, PASS, INT.

4th drive: 3 yard run, PASS, PASS.

<shrugs> totally tried all first half i guess? it's classic reid. token run play surrounded by a shit load of passing plays. in ANY type of close game, any coach worth a damn will tell you that you have to force the run no matter what, or else you can't open up the defense.

run that bullshit all you'd like, but that's exactly what it is, bullshit. we've seen it under reid, kelly and now pederson. the eagles will get a yard or two on rare carries and pass heavy. but then they'll decide out of nowhere to just keep handing it off.. and what happens? they start ripping off big gains.

to say the chiefs running the ball wouldn't have made a difference is fuckin' absurd. any back, any moment is capable of breaking one. the west coast 5 yard dump passes are played out and have been for a long time.

smith is not brady, nor big ben, nor rodgers. neither is the shitty scheme they employ.

Yeah those 3 yard and 0 yard and -1 yard runs would really get some points on the board! Only reason the Chiefs didn't get shut out is because they passed successfully on two drives. You think the Steelers were going to let 7 yard runs just continue all day? They didn't.

so, now you're implying they would only get runs of 3 yards or less if they kept trying?! crazy. and, just to point out the obvious..

they had the ball on the steelers 41 after the opening two running plays. that already left them in a nice position to start thinking about a FG. and on the last drive, they had an 11 yard run.. but needed 2 (3 if not for a steelers penalty) 4th down conversions with the almighty passing attack. there was nothing successful about it.

Yup, basically they only had nice runs when the defense let them or weren't ready for it. 2 on the first drive and 2 on the last drive. The only nice run in between wasn't even a handoff. Straight up they were going nowhere. Should have run it a few less times in those situations. Steelers defense went in there, played well and dictated.

Reid is a good coach, maybe a very good coach, but capped his teams ceiling with his QB choice just like he did here. KC will extend him and probably keep him just as long as Lurie did but he's never going to win a SB, unless the next QB is a real star.

If we could get him back today with Wentz already in place, he'd win one or maybe more. As long as he didn't hire an OL coach as his DC.

Completions roll clock too.
Yep and other teams hurry the fuck up after completions. But not Reids teams. Seen it multiple times in Philly and KC now. Last year they blamed Pederson. Pedersons gone and its STILL happening to Reids teams. Clearly, this is a thing unique to Reid coach teams.

So you are saying nice long scoring drives are a Reid thing. OK.
