There’s one key difference this time around, and Epley’s extremely proud of it: Philipp reports to Epley, not head football coach Mike Riley.
Epley isn’t planning to micromanage. But he told Eichorst he wouldn’t come back unless the strength coach reported to the assistant A.D. for S&C.
Good read JJM.
I thought this was interesting:
I do believe the title of this thread is misleading.
I despise Pederson like the next guy, but I highly doubt Epley was assigned to physically shovel snow.
He was put into an "administrative position" and was "handling facilities, snow removal and security".
Do you really think he was out there shoveling walks, cleaning toilets, and carrying a can of mace around in a campus security uniform?
He was simply the manager of those departments.
i.e. He organized, scheduled, and managed the personnel who do those tasks.
How quickly we forget why he was no longer head of S&C...athletic pubalgia ring a bell to anyone?Well, anyways.....the guy had a legend in charge of snow removal!
Otherwise known as athletic hernia...it was a MAJOR issue in the early '00s. Had at least two kids in 2002 that were granted waivers for extra eligibility, and that's only the ones that got hurt early enough in the season to qualify. That, combined with the fact that he didn't get along with Frank, is why he was moved to a different position.No...
