So Paxton is going to be on the 60 day DL, this is really frustrating I was hoping for him or Walker to make their return take out Erasmo and we can move forward with a very good pitching staff. Walker has been struggling in AAA sense coming back from his injury so his 2014 debut is being pushed back. I always think about Danny Hultzen in this situation when it comes to injured pitchers *facepalm

Well all we can do now is just hope walker gets his stuff back so we can get rid of erasmo in the rotation

I believe its retroed to 4/28...so its a couple more weeks. he just started to long toss the other day I believe so he is going to need some time anyway before he gets into his rehab assignments.

It is actually retro to 4/8 making it up already allowing him to come off whenever he is ready with no timelines involved at this point.

That sounds alot better. The thread title, without the background information, is extermely disappointing. I think PaxsonPaxton has a better future than Walker.

I dont understand I thought when a player is moved to the 60 day DL that means his injury had sidelined him for that period?

Putting him on the 60-day DL opens up a slot on the 40-man roster.
They can retroactive a DL trip to the last day he played (or something close to that... there may be more nuance to the move than that, but that's the deal in a nutshell).

Yeah, what the posters above are telling you is that if the start date of his 60-day DL is retroactive to April 8th, then he can come off of the DL, anytime at least 60 days after April 8th. So the earliest date he can come off is June 7th. In other words, he is already eligible to come off.

Essentially that ^^^. Just needed a spot for Choi so this was an easy move to make without DFAing anyone.
