Not sure that a second round pick can be a bust, but I'm liking Richardson's game more and more each week. Looks like he's starting to get comfortable in the offense and he's starting to make some plays. Will be interesting to see if they unleash him deep at some point. On TV last night, they were trying to call Richardson Seattle's deep threat, which he really isn't. He could be, but they haven't used him that way yet.

I'm liking that he seems to be more involved, bodes well for the future.

Yeah, don't wish an injury on anyone, especially a Seahawk but Kearse going down is a blessing in disguise... At least we're getting Richardson some more PT before the postseason begins... Then we'll have a well-rested Kearse back in time for the postseason as well...

I like what I'm starting to see out of PRich! Getting more involved every week and seems to have some good hands. They are working him in slowly. I have no prob with the pick at this point!

After two seasons people were on here saying Tate was a bust. His third year he was pretty good and going to a pass happy offense has made him a star. I wonder how many of our so called pedestrian receivers would thrive the way Tate has in an offense that throws a lot. I cannot judge wide receiver's. Not enough information. I am better at rating cheerleaders.

Richardson looks like a keeper to me. Norwood as well, for that matter. Keep dumping talent into the OL!

Yep, you can never have to much at the OL position since that is a position where injuries are the most common...

I heard he had a pretty nice catch tonight just after a nice Beast run that led to our first 3 points but my live stream crapped out at that point and I missed it.

For what its worth:

Richardson's final numbers: 29 catches, 271 yards 1 TD

Golden Tate's rookie year: 21 catches, 221 yards, 0 TDs

These numbers are not all that telling to be honest. Richardson was on the field a lot more than Tate was his rookie season, I am almost 100% sure that Richardson has at least 65%to 75% more snaps played than Tate did his rookie season When the Hawks had a line-up of Williams, Obomanu, Butler and Stokely a head of him.

not to forget also the Hawks threw the ball 117 more times in 2010, but Tate wasn't on the field all that much.

The numbers are similar.... but what isn't captured there is drops, and from my memory it seems Tate had an issue in that regard as a rook. He certainly has proven to have excellent hands since, but it was part of the narrative on his rookie season.

Richardson shows good potential but one element of his game that hasn't appeared yet is run after the catch ability. He may have it, but as of yet he hasn't shown munch swiftness in the open field or an ability to bust tackles.

The one thing that worries me about Richardson is cutting off his routes too soon. There have been a handful of throws I've seen that almost got picked off because Richardson just stopped running. I think it's been more of a situation where he's quit on some routes not because he's lazy, but because of getting hit. He's a bit undersized as we know..

So far Richardson hasn't shown the speed he flashed in college, but you got to think it's still there, unless picking up 10 pounds or so has slowed him down a lot. I still think he'll be a good receiver. Lets just give him some time.

I haven't focused on him specifically when watching games, but I don't believe that the Seahawks have put him in position to use that speed very often. The other potential issue could be that he still has the speed he had in college, but now he's going up against players that are savvier, bigger and/or faster than some of the guys he went up against in college, mitigating his speed some.

Torn ACL. Fuck! He was really heating up lately. This is a pretty big blow. Hopefully Willson has gotten over the drops because we're going to need him to make plays.

If he has, and Helfet has gotten over what was probably big-game nerves by next week, it'd be nice to have two reliable tight ends to throw to. It's tough to lose Richardson, especially for as long as he's going to have to be out, because he was just starting to find his groove, but this offensive scheme is designed to weather the loss of a receiver or two to injury better than an offense built around one go-to receiver. It'd be better if we didn't lose anyone, obviously, but this isn't an offense geared towards one receiver whose loss completely changes the gameplan.
